There is a group of lone solider alumni that lived at Kibbutz Bet Haemk during their service. Half still live in Israel and they are having a summer Thanksgivg this weekend on the kibbutz.

Because they live in Morocco, that's why. It's not a good idea to be known in an Arab/Muslim-majority country as someone who serves in the IDF. Morocco still doesn't even have diplomatic relations with Israel, but allows its Jewish citizens travel there (and lets Israelis visit Morocco) nevertheless, while Jews im Morocco for the most part get on well with their Muslim neighbors, giving names and faces to the family can lead them to be targeted by fanatics. As it is, pictures of the house can lead them to be recognized.
