1. Jews have to be in a Secure State .
Zola   (06.06.16)
The vast majority of Jews in Israel are needing a Iron -Clad Secure Israel and the Saudis in another mindset have to understand both Jews and Arabs need time to obtain a remedy which utterly ensures Jewish security . Therefore there will have to be a gradual change in the fierce tribal group human clustering and the still present mega gang warfare mentality of human nature . Away around this is possible and with support Jews and Arabs can be led to share the Holy Land especially as Jerusalem is a Holy City . But the Jews because of being a vast minority in the area and more so the Shoah will need an immense security power .
2. Does Gen Eshki plan mean that 4-6 M Palys will enter Israel?
Alan ,   SA   (06.06.16)
Or that Israel will no longer be a Jewish State? If answer is YES to these 2 questions then it is hard to see the Saudi or any plan being accepted by Israel. But I do believe that there is an interest from Egypt Jordan and Gulf States and Magreb to do something positive.
3. Better never
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.06.16)
The surrender to Islamofascists will result in our genocide.
4. a positive step, but just one voice... not a culture shift !

5. Basis to Build On
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (06.06.16)
Don't think Netanyahu is up to it. But the Current Saudi plan has a basis to build on. 1 - Border adjustments based on pre-67 lines. Same land mass to both countries. 2 - Statehood for real. Renaming the current occupation as statehood would not fly. 3 - Palestinian right of return to Palestine only. Maybe 100 or 200 to Deir Yassin as sign of good faith. Nut the rest to demonstrate that Palestinians could control their immigration, just like a real country. Actually agreeing on the Saudi plan basis would likely bring down the Israeli government. Likud and all parties to the right oppose more than shining on the gullible.
6. The sky isn't falling.
Gabe ,   Canada   (06.06.16)
There is no such thing as "Now or Never." The sun is rising every day.
7. Who is the guy with the horned eyebrows smiling?
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (06.06.16)
Looks like Satan himself happy at the collaboration between Israel and the Saudis.
8. Pals want both Israel+West Bank Muslim run
Sam ,   Canada   (06.06.16)
The Palestinians will not accept living next to a Jewish state. They feel that with 350 million Arabs And 1.5 billion Muslims they will eventually destroy Israel and don't have to compromise. They play the peace game to try and con the West into boycotting Israel to give them the West Bank and a right of return. It's time Jews and the West stopped being naive suckers.
9. No sweat: NEVER! Can we go home now, please?
(06.06.16)
10. the shadow of the brother was not an enemy
CJK   (06.06.16)
the saudis keep repeating that israel must accept the saudi plan without any ammendments. the saudi plan is another attemptt ot destroy israel through diplomatic means. israel cannot accept.
11. 10 Try Again CJK
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (06.06.16)
The article makes clear that a major change was made to the Saudi offer. Land-swapping based on the number of hectares Israel had before the 67 war. What is a shame is that Israel has no concept of negotiation and compromise. You want control of all, even their immigration and would leave them at the mercy of your most extremist settlers. You want run their lives.
12. The article is not updated
Moshe ,   Israel   (06.06.16)
Recently, a high ranking Saudi stated that the Arab League will not agree to any changes in its 2002 "peace" initiative. So, according to this dictate, the Palestinian refugee issue should be solved according to UN Resolution 194, which denotes the full implementation of "the right of return". It is added to the uprooting some 600,000 Jews (including in East Jerusalem) from their homes. Whom they want to sell this stinking merchandise ?
13. Let "Palestine" fall & we will have peace
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.06.16)
The path to peace is by letting the evil fiction of "Palestine" fall. "Palestine" is kept afloat solely by the mad flow of Israeli food, money, electricity, protection, work permits etc. Let "Palestine" fall, and it will no longer endanger us. We will have peace.
14. Now or never? NEVER AGAIN!!
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (06.06.16)
the Saudi's are idiots they have the worst human rights abuses and expect Israel to succumb to their demands? When pigs fly. KEEP BUILDING!!
15. UN GA resolutions are not legal most Pals not legal Refugees
Someone   (06.06.16)
There is no legal document about the "right of return" as THERE IS NO RIGHT OF RETURN. Many in my family were refugees they had no right to return to their property, compensation may be another matter. Even Res 242 SC not GA says if they are willing to live in peace they should be allowed to return or be compensated. 2/3 of Palestinians according to most polls support the destruction of Israel and terrorism against Israeli civilians. That number also voted Hamas in elections Of those who support the two states mostly see it as another step to the destruction of Israel. As for being a refugee it cannot be transfered to your children otherwise I would be a REAL refugee. If you take the real figures from 1949 the number of real refugees is under 300,000. Most of the WB Arabs had Jordanian citizenship why no mention of this? THE ONLY PLACE IN THE WORLD WHERE REFUGEES WHO STILL LIVE IN THE SAME LAND AS THEY CAME FROM ARE STILL CONSIDERED REFUGEES. However many millions of Palestinians there are in Gaza and WB they are still on the land they claim as their own so the refugee status is ridiculous. The only way to solve the issue is to compensate both Jews up to 950,000 kicked out of Arab/Muslim nations and the Arabs in a peace agreement. Lastly mostly unknown but many Palestinians have applied for compensation and received over the past 60 years.
16. Al-Jubeir
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (06.06.16)
In contradiction to what DR Eshki says, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said last week at the Paris conference the Arab peace initiative cannot be amended. In other words it is a take-it-or leave-it proposal.
17. Peace now or never???????,
tiki ,   belgium   (06.06.16)
The Arabs are the ones who didn't recognize Israel from day one so how about an 'official announcement in the UN by the Arab League that as of now they recognize Israel as the Jewish state and all incitement & animosities therefore will be stopped and a peace deal will be written and normalisation will be the result. It's funny how the attackers/losers from 1948 set the rules of disengagement & peace!
18. 11 Try again Mark ben Josef
CJK   (06.06.16)
the arab league and saudi foreign minister al-jubeir have stated that the saudi plan cannot be amended. dr. eshki stated in the article: "netanyahu should announce from the un podium in new york that he accepts and adopts the 2002 peace initiative of the saudi king, which offers israel full peace and full normalization with the arab world in return for a full withdrawal frm occupied territories." the saudis and the arab league demand that israel relinquish territories in jerusalem, the entire territory of the west bank, the golan and the acceptance of arabs into the remaining rump jewish state. in return, they offer recognition of the remaining rump state. furthermore, the saudis are threatening israel with bds and continued terror if israel refuses the saudi blackmail. the saudis are not in a position to threaten or blackmail the jewish state given their dire security situation.
19. When I can walk downtown Riyadh with a Kippah on...
sifter ,   usa   (06.07.16)
and not have teenagers playing soccer with my head moments later, than I'll believe peace is really, really possible with Saudi and the rest of the Muslim world. Until then........
20. arab league must make the first move
zionist forever   (06.08.16)
The arab plan was rejected in 2002 because it was an ultimatum - 1967 border - Jerusalem & holy places - all settlements go - right of return - Golan also goes to Syria. All the things we rejected when negotiating separately with Arafat, Abbas and Assad because they were uynacceotable but the arab plan made it look revolutionary but it was also a non negotiable ultimatum take or leave so we left. Netanyahu wants a renegotiation that takes into account the changes in the region and no right of return but the Arab League say no change. If they won't change what was unacceptable in 2002 why should it be acceptable now especially considering how unstable the region is now?
21. No Peace Agreement that
Koose E Mack ,   NY US   (06.07.16)
places Israeli Citizens in imminent danger is acceptable. So I guess we'll have to pass on your most generous offer of "peace". If the Saudi's are so concerned about Palestinian Rights, why did they exile thousands during the 1991 Iraq Gulf War? Didn't they feel safe with their endemic Palestinian population?
22. "Its Now Or Never " its an Old Song
"FromOsloWithLove" ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.10.16)
"Its now or never our love wont last" the new Saudi love song to Israel what a joke this time the Leftist Media wont fool or trick the masses let them find another song how about "From Oslo With Love".
