1. Because there's no time to give away strategical assets like
(06.04.16)
at the height of "Arab Spring"? The very fact, that they (in their usual, Arab chutzpah) even dare to utter such sentence is a proof, that there's no govt. in Jerusalem.... Sad, dangerous but true!
2. What is the "just solution" for the Pal "refugees"?

Israel can never withdraw from the Golan Heights. Who will we hand it to and who can guarantee it will remain in the same hands. It would be suicide for Israel much worse than returning the West Bank. The answer to the Saudis should be an emphatic NO!!
4. Visit Jerusalem, the capital of Israel
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (06.04.16)
If Adel al-Jubeir, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, wants peace, let him pay a visit to Israel, speak to the Knesset, show his people what he wants. If he can't do that there is no chance he can deliver anything.
5. Still, a problem remains

Let us suppose that Israel accepts the Saudi initiative, and makes peace with the Arab world. But what about the other some 30 Muslim countries (like Pakistan or Iran), which do not recognize the Jewish empire ? Are not they deserve also a gesture of land indulgence from a country abound in territory, in exchange for normalization ? They may settle for Galilee or Negev.
6. Saudi 'initiative' similar to Nazi 'initiative'....
David ,   Hartford USA   (06.04.16)
Divide and conquer. Both would end in the destruction of the Jews. To show that the Saudis are sincere about a lasting peace, I suggest: 1) that they invite and allow Jews to move back and settle in their Arabian ancestral villages. (You know, the ones that Mohamed slaughtererd, raped, and pillaged through...) 2) The Saudis must grant unfettered construction of synagogues in those villages and officially 'welcome back' the descendants of the Jews who managed to flee death and enslavement centuries ago. 3) Pass laws to ensure the Jews are treated as first-class citizens, not dhimmis. No jizya, no maltreatment. Equal to Muslim citizens in every single way. If the honorable Saudi leaders can perform these three simple tasks, then I would be convinced that they truly want a lasting peace. If they refuse, it proves that they are trying to get a win-lose proposition accepted: a 'win' for the Arabs, and 'lose' for the Israelis. Why should Israel give up so much land and put itself in existential jeopardy, while the Arabs simply say they'll be peaceful? (Which has proven to be impossible for them since 1948 and prior.) If the Saudis want to make a deal, then let them be the ones to show that Jews are accepted in the Arab world. Let them invite Jews to settle in their ancestral towns and become full citizens and build synagogues. If the Saudis can't do this, then Israel should rip up the paper the 'Saudi Initiative' is written on, for it is a worthless (and dangerous) document.
7. Saudi terror state is repeating itself
C   (06.04.16)
israel will never accept the 2002 saudi terror initiative. the saudis are mistaken to think that they can defeat israel diplomatically. they are mistaken to think that recognition of israel by the arab states is of any consequence to the jewish state. there is nothing that the arabs can offer israel. the saudis neeed israel more than israel needs the saudis. the saudis are under existential threat by their genocidal shia neighbour. the saudis could not defeat the shia crescent. they cannot even defeat the shia in yemen. the so called saudi initiative is nothing more than a demand that the jewish state renounce its fabulous victories against arab armies bent on her destruction in the six day war and in the yom kipur war. israel will never again put herself in a position where foreign terror armies have the strategic advantage over her.
8. Saudis need a strong ally in their forthcoming war

with Iran. The U.S. under Oblabla can't be trusted to do anything, but Israel is the only country that has actually threatened Iranian terror sponsors.
9. 2002 Arab Peace Initiative
Walid ,   Spain   (06.05.16)
I have written many comments on this site since 2002 recommending that Israel should accept the Arab initiative proposed during a meeting of the Arab heads of state in Beirut the same year. Since then we have had the Arab Spring and all the wars that followed which are still destroying the social texture of the Arab World and threatening the whole region. The time is now more opportune than ever because Israel can now extract some modifications to the original proposal which the Arabs may be more willing to accept. The region is in turmoil and we have Iran threatening the Arabs as well as Israel. A peace agreement now would strengthen both the Arabs and Israel allowing them to put to an end the Iranian expansion in the region as well as stop the extremist phenomena of Jihad. Yes, things have changed since 2002 but unfortunately to the worst.
