1. Boycotters being boycotted
tiki ,   belgium   (06.06.16)
The New Nazi Party calling themselves BDS has no right of existence and should be shunned by righteous people everywhere!
2. There go the first admendment
Thomas Paine   (06.06.16)
Boycott is a form of non-violent protest. Prior to the start of the American Revolution, as a result of England imposed the Stamp Act the Colonies boycotted English goods and this resulted in the repeal of the onerous Stamp Act. To Boycott is part of Americans Bill of Rights under the freedom of speech clause.
3. One question ???
Heshy ,   New York city   (06.07.16)
Why is the BDS allowed to march in this parade last three years. Plus groups like betzelem March. Something don't add up.
4. #2 - Freedom of Speech is represented
Tova ,   Canada   (06.06.16)
in all democratic nations. Boycott a product or nation that is a threat to democracy. This BDS is about the destruction of Israel and the United States and all free nations. Don't confuse the different between freedom on speech. Any boycott against Israel will also be a loss of freedom for western societies. Without Israel no nation is safe. anymore than the United States.

boycott yes, hate speech no! and beds is all about hate speech. let's boycott saudi arabia, pakistan, turkey, iran, egypt, syria.... they are committing mass genocide, mass murder, starvation, chopping off hands and tongues, murdering gays and lesbians, torturing opposition, etc.. why don't we boycott the above countries?????? why ONLY israel???? who, compared to these above nation is a beacon of freedom, light and democracy....and in this country, all arabs live freely, vote and have equal right!!! and most arabs there will tell you that there is no way they want to live under the plot or the plalestinan authority or hamas in gaza. so, stop your ignorance, stupidity and hate.
6. #2 The 1st Amendment is alive and well.
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.07.16)
The government is exercising the right of free speech by this law. There are no fines or jail time. And it refers to businesses, not individuals. I guess free speech is only recognized for your opinions, no one else's. (BTW: Boycott is NOT mentioned anywhere in the First Amendment. You have some reading to do.)
7. Then the fools vote Obama (or Sanders or Hilary
(06.07.16)
8. only 40.000? ai..ai..ai
Mark B. ,   Amsterdam / Holland   (06.07.16)
That used to be 400.000. right? Seems BDS is working already.
9. Why 40 thousand not 100 thousand?
Heshy ,   New York city   (06.07.16)
The reason parade gets smaller each year is because you won't find any chareidi or chassidic Jews marching. The parade is organized by left wing secular Jews and they allow gays,BDS and ha shomer haze ire groups to March. The jewish community of New York is becoming highly chareidi or highly secular. The only chareidim at the parade are two protesting groups. The neturei karta and a group of Orthodox Jews protesting the gays marching. The orthodox group does not even want yeshiva boys to protest so they hire Mexicans dressed as Jews each year to hold the signs. If you google Jews hiring Mexicans you will get a laugh how Mexicans are hired not only to protest the israeli parade but the ny gay parades. Next they will fly Mexicans to protest tel Aviv gay parade.
10. #8 40.000???
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.07.16)
No, 40,000 is within the usual range of participants. The parade gets bigger every year; there are always more marchers than spectators because everyone wants to march in it. Your 400,000 number is bogus!
11. Cuomo's law is unconstitutional
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (06.07.16)
The law will not survive a court challenge so it is meaningless pandering. It will NOT help Israel one bit and could even have bad unintended consequences for Israel and Jewish people.
12. spyguy #11, the tide is turning against "BDS"
Jake   (06.08.16)
And that's why you now try to hide behind the "Constitution", but you have no case. The US federal and state laws are repleted with anti-discriminatory legislation, and prohibiting *PUBLIC* bodies from cooperating with "BDS" in no way infringe on the rights of private citizens...any more than prohibiting public bodies from cooperating with the the Ku Klux Klan, the Panthers, neo-Nazis, etc. is a violation of individual freedom of speech. The tide is turning across the world. BDS bank accounts are being frozen, churches and unions are one by one turning against the movement, celebrities are defying it, and governments are denouncing it. You see, decent people don't like to be blackmailed and intimidated; that's human nature for ya; the Achilles heel of "BDS".
13. #11 spyguy
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.08.16)
It is "pandering" only because you disagree. And it is a question of policy, not the Constitution.
