1. Israel needs to unilaterally annex Judea/Samaria
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.07.16)
"Peace talks with Palestinians" always means countless murdered and maimed Israelis. These talks are aimed at turning Israel into a defenseless 9 mile wide concentration camp. They are not an option. Israel needs to unilaterally let fictional "Palestine" fall, by no longer supplying our mortal "Palestinian" foes with food, money, electricity etc. Israel's next step is to unilaterally annex liberated Judea and Samaria.
2. pundak, ben ami, beilin, peres, savir all wrong
eli   (06.07.16)
the above gentlemen were disastrously wrong about oslo, gullible and naive costing israel over 5000 dead and injured. peres turned logic on its head with 2 sayings which he firmly believed- 1) YOU MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED 2) IGNORE THE LESSONS OF HISTORY can anyone be so dumb and ignorant? do not trust these men ever again period! you can add barnea to this list.
3. Poor Barnea: misses South Africa so much.
(06.07.16)
4. No one failed .Innately there is no way to peace.
Zola   (06.07.16)
It's crazy to believe there is any chance of peace at this time . So divided are the Jews and Arabs re the conditions that it will be impossible . The USA populace is against an imposed peace and then there are the military industrial complexes huge money and the innate Viscious Tribalisms and conflictual interests .
5. the 'relevance theory of the left.
tiki ,   belgium   (06.07.16)
Where an elephant is made from a mouse by which Herzog being the mouse and his party being relevant.
6. No Longer Possible
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (06.08.16)
Two-states would result in Israeli civil strife if the Palestinian state was allowed to be a real state with all the characteristics of a real statehood. Given the Netanyahu vision, there would be no peace for Palestinians, perpetual occupation and constant low level civil strife and a failed state, unable even to feed, clothe, or house itself. Reality sucks sometimes.
7. # 6 For Israeli Jews (and other people)
Moshe ,   Israel   (06.08.16)
It is more important not to be murdered or maimed, than the life quality of your Palestinian buddies, assuming that your future account has chance of materialization.
8. #7 - Status Quo
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (06.08.16)
Netanyahu just offers a renamed version of the status quo. That is likely to include increased violence against Israelis. It does not include peace for Palestinians. And they likely will reciprocate as they have for the last 50 years of occupation.. Netanyahu is selling that used car to snow you Israelis and American Congressional gullible politicians. He forgets that Congress has no foreign policy power. The Palestinians are not buying. They know what he is selling holds nothing for them. They also know settler violence against them will continue unabated. If you like your status quo, you can keep your status quo and see conditions deteriorate periodically.
9. #8 - it is IMPOSSIBLE to maintain the "Status Quo"
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (06.08.16)
In their rush to colonize the west bank, Israeli forgot to look at the last 10,000 years of history to better understand what they were creating. Basically it is no longer possible for two states to exist AND the millions of non-Jews in the West Bank and Gaza are NOT going anywhere. They will stay in place and their anger will fester and violence will increase over time to the point that no Israeli will ever feel safe. If you don't want to believe me, just look at the historical record of what happens to invaders (which is how the Arabs view the Israelis). The historical record is very ugly for the invaders.
10. # 8 The Palestinians are masters in public relations
Moshe ,   Israel   (06.08.16)
They always invert between cause and result, and thus can turn many gullible westerns, who don't know the local history, on their side. Accordingly, they portray the violent struggle against the Jews as a consequence what they call occupation. But this "occupation" happened in 1967, and before that the same struggle took place. It has been conducted for decades even before Israel's establishment in 1948. The status quo exists because that despite virtually all Israelis view the West Bank as part of their homeland (read the bible, Jewish history, San Remo conference decisions of 1920, and League of Nations decisions of 1922 – a sample), and this conviction is behind the settlements there, most of them are ready to grant large part of it to the Palestinians in exchange for peace, but these Arabs have always refused. They want all the land, including Haifa and Tel-Aviv, for themselves.
11. #9. Forget the status quo. Let "Palestine" fall!
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.08.16)
#9. Jews are not invaders in Judea and Samaria. They have belonged to us for more than 4,000 years. Who wants the status quo? Israel can easily let fictional "Palestine" fall, simply by refusing to prop it up. Without Israeli food, money, electricity, work permits etc., fictional "Palestine" is toast within weeks. That is a change to the status quo every good person can support.
12. apartheid and Israel
ted ,   tel aviv   (06.10.16)
The difference between apartheid and Israel is that in South Africa the South African themselves wanted to live separate and unequal lives from the blacks and deny them equal opportunity and equal treatment. In Israel, where I live and work and study, we Israelis do NOT want apartheid, it is the Arabs who force it upon us. First we are not allowed into their cities and villages. We are not allowed to be treated in their hospitals and universities. In addition, they come into our areas freely, to work, to learn and to be treated in our hospitals with NO problems. However they also send terrorists to take advantage of our willingness to accept them. We are not guilty of apartheid, we are guilty of not thinking like we were created to think. And worse is to believe opinions like Nachum Barnea!
