1. Goodbye Bibi
Yaakov Reuven ,   Beer Sheva, Israel   (06.12.16)
I don't care, just as long as he leaves with his "queen of Israel". I voted for him too, but I just can't remember casting a vote for Sara. Oh, I wouldn't vote for him again. You aren't supposed to vote for a king, are you?
2. There is no one to replace him. He is attacked constantly
Adi ,   Israel   (06.12.16)
There is no one to replace him. He is attacked constantly , even before he opens his eyes in the morning. Most of the attacks are jealousy. We should be thanking him. The allegations of receiving monies for his campaigns. He is not responsible for the behaviour of the donor. I recall Itzhak Rabin had to resign because his wife had an account in the US. After this. Every jealous person was sorry. It's about time we look for the good in people and say thank you. He could earn 100 times more in private industry.
3. Ynet, don't you get tired???
Edan Orvitz ,   Markham   (06.12.16)
How many years have you wanted BIbi gone?
4. who to replace him with
jay   (06.12.16)
if you think to replace bibi with herzog, lapid, kahlon, livni or huldai, olmert and ramon, you are wasting your time. these alternatives propose another oslo with instead of 5000 dead and injured, you will get 10,000 and mayhem in the streets. they hide behind fences,w ithdraw under pressure and their ideas are pacifist and delusionary. they have been tried before and they failed miserably. feiglinfecandidates. otherwise, forget it. , bennett, Lieberman are worthy
5. and there lies the problem - no one out there
barbara ,   Haifa   (06.12.16)
that can replace him. Can you give me a name of someone of his caliber (diplomat, language, tact, politics, respect) that can replace him? The country/people would jump at the chance for someone new (and above any illegal shenanigans).
6. Time for new PM
Jerry ,   Jerusalem,israel   (06.12.16)
Gosh and you are finally figuring this out now.
7. What does it mean "National Camp?"
Jew-C ,   JewLandia (Israel)   (06.12.16)
Does it mean free elections with the participation of all candidates from the entire political spectrum? Or is it a code phrase for right wing candidates only? What is the precise reason for wanting elections to unseat Prime Minister Mr. Netanyahu? because the writer Mr. Hendel says so? because Prime Minister Mr. Netanyahu has failed to bring about specific and necessary positive changes in the existential reality of Israel? because Prime Minister Mr. Netanyahu is no longer servicing the needs of the Nationalist (read: extreme Right Wing) camp? because Prime Minister Mr. Netanyahu has become a duly elected dictator? (is that why Mr. Hendel used the word "Kaiser?") Those questions asked: Yes, Prime Minister Mr. Netanyahu has served the nation far too long and given all of the "smoke" (read: allegations of wrong doing and mishandling of funds) surrounding the Prime Minister's residence and office, it is time for him to "stand down" Yes, definitely we, the people of the State of Israel need to change the political system and the manner in which the Prime Minister is elected. But we must take care NOT to legally "stack the deck" so that only a certain type of leader from a certain political party is chosen. After all let's remember that at this time by law it is only the left wing NGOs who have their funding reviewed. At this time, we have no way of knowing what wealthy private individuals predominantly FOREIGN nationals are determining the political agenda and the needs of the people of Israel. So yes changes are required, but we must take care that the situation isn't stacked towards just one political outlook, point of view, and/or belief system.
8. CONFUCIUS SAYS :
CONFUCIUS ,   SAFED CHINA   (06.12.16)
IF IT AINT BROKE ,DO NOT FIX IT.....
9. BIBI DOING A FANTASTIC JOB
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (06.12.16)
We owe Prime Minister a lot of gratitude .He has done ,and is doing ,a fantastic job in maintaining security and a healthy economy in Israel. He is the best of the best . Long may he continue .By the way , Bibi has the most difficult job in the world .
10. "Ruling" over smart-ass-Jews in our own Land is a Herculean
(06.12.16)
task and to be doing it for so long, while maintaining prosperity & security...?! Are you friggin' mad , Mr.Yoav??! WHAT gave you this dumb idea of replacing Bibi? : Bouji of the anti-Zionist camp.....?????
11. We will replace him with Bennett and Lieberman
Careful4WhatUwish4 ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.12.16)
Yes YNET we will one day replace him with Lieberman or Bennett
12. Don't like Netanyahu at all but very smart
Zola   (06.13.16)
As a person Netanyahu is difficult very arrogant and confident but also capable of neutralising psychos and highly fast on his feet . Can dodge well with strong oration and punchy phrases. The big problem is he has built a stability and who has the capacity to better him . He is still very sharp but a lot of negativity is his arrogance and smug s
13. Soooo, what did he do wrong?
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (06.13.16)
After reading the article I still can't put it together what he did that was so wrong? He has political problems with his coalition partners? Nothing new! Other governments would have fallen from this, but Bibi keeps on plugging. Economy good, security good, social welfare good, country great, so what is wrong?
14. limit terms of prime ministers?
Richard E Sherwin ,   Herzliya   (06.13.16)
we could solve all this nonsense, by further limiting the life-span of all the ridiculous political parties any future prime minister has to spend time trying to make a working government out of. given our party system, it takes a prime minister a LONG time to learn to play these mini-tyrants into some win-win game. as for saying goodbye to a successful prime minister, just who do you have in mind to replace him: another general? another mini-tyrant? for all the politics in the army, it's not proven the best training for running our political unsystem.
15. Excellent comment Zola
Adler J   (06.13.16)
but you know? israelis are not easy going people. You mean Netanyahu can neutralize every other politician who wants to take from him his roll as PMinister? Since when arrogance is self confidence? im confused lol
16. who can replace Bibi
zionist forever   (06.13.16)
Who is going to replace Netanyahu? Yair Lapid who is all image and no substance, Shelly Yachimovitch who is expected to replace Herzog as party leader? There are no serious challengers to Netanyahu in Likud and the Netanyahu beating Saar, Yaalon, Ashkenazi dream team party the media are obsessed with doesn't exist. Netanyahu has been around a while but reality is he has not been there for all that much longer than American or European leaders who win more than 1 term difference is in Israel with elections taking place on average every 2 years it gives the impression Netanyahu has been around forever. We cannot have a situation where a PM can only serve 8 years because no government in history has ever survived the full 4 years because of the coalition system and as we have no idea how long coalitions will last for how do we set a maximum of 8 years for a PM? The problem is not Netanyahu its the coalition system.
17. 14
zionist forever   (06.13.16)
Until we end this stupid coalition system then rules to limit the amount of time a PM can stand for can't work. You say 2 terms and it could last from 2 years - 4 because nobody knows how long coalitions are going to last for. The current coalition has been around just 1 year and we may soon be having another election as a result of friction between Netanyahu & Bennet. No government in history has ever survived 4 years. Until we end the coalition system we will never have politicians working for the good of the country and 99% of the time its working to keep coalitions together and avoid elections.
18. May our PM live another 100 yrs.
N.E.Samuel ,   Israel   (06.13.16)
It is so easy to talk. Can you name one decent person who is capable to replace him. Remember always: To err is human". He is the only person who can face the entire hawkish world leaders and not sell our G-d given tiny nation just to gain "Glory".
19. its really time for change
tomer ,   jerusalem   (06.14.16)
yes ,yoav hendel is absolutly right. The time has come for change. Its long time overdue. To only "administer" a political situation is not enough. What is needed is a man with vision for israels future,a man with a clear mind and determination. Strong, when strengths is needed and ready to take "risks" when needed to advance and secure israels future. Lieberman could be such a man ,as well as Lapid. Both would be a "blessing".
20. funny comment
