1. Security Consciousness like Immunity waned
Zola   (06.14.16)
The real issue is Jewish Survivalism waned .The hate will always be there for anything also the desire to plunder and conquer . So Security has to be Iron Clad and to some degree there was Security and the murders where not as vast as Orlando(no security) or Norway (no armed guards on island seventy killed one gunmen . Zionism was born of Survivalism Fears of the Jews fearful of Gangland MassMurder in Czarist Russia. The Holy Land with many empty spaces the Negev the sand dunes on which TelAviv was built the Swamps drained enough room for millions of Jews with no Arab displaced in a Federation including Syria Iraq Jordan and Lebanon . International Humanism abhors murderous fascistic chauvinism and much of the area is Gangland . The Jewish nationalism is least murderous by far and all true International Humanitarians ought support the Jews particularly and essentially because of the Holocaust . There has to be an overwhelming just compensation .
3. The Israeli government
Jon ,   USA   (06.14.16)
Why just stop at what happened 75 years ago? as usual, you can go back to biblical times and confuse any debate. 75 years ago Israel did not have a fascist government. That is a big difference. I agree that terror is terror is trror. But a fascist government is still fascist.
4. Why say this? As bad as Huldai!!!
IESKY ,   Centre Israel   (06.14.16)
Good articel till you threw in your personal view: "The current government is bad for Israel, and we should replace it"... Why do you say this and feed the Israel haters with nonsence. The goverment is democratically elected by the majority in Israel and if its good for the people, who are you to say its not? Or at least explain your comment briefly! Needless to say, I disagree! Bib is doing a brilliant job in the most difficult of circumstances. Let's hear who could do better!
5. Spoken from the hearts of many. Thank you Ben-Dror
DOV ,   USA   (06.14.16)
6. As TA Mayor he is quite good&efficient! As a "politician":
(06.14.16)
an utter idiot! Despicable cretin. Even if one takes into account paving his way into Labor/Anti-Zionist Party (that probably won't suffer for much more)
7. The PM should have condemned him
JustifiedTheMurders ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.13.16)
A statement like that coming from the Mayor of the most important city in Israel should have been publicly condemned by Netanyahu that he did not is a scandal
8. arab occupation of west bank
Richard E Sherwin ,   Herzliya   (06.14.16)
the mayor wont be the first mayor to talk nonsense (outside his field of expertise one hopes). he is right tho about the occupation causing terror. the palestinian arabs are terrified of their PLO and Hamas occupiers; they know if the IDF and israelis abandoned them, they'd be just like syria. which we being charitable stick around to protect them.
9. Well Said
SK ,   Tel Aviv   (06.14.16)
Keep up the good work. I don't agree with everything you say about desirability of Palestinian State, but you have intellectual integrity.
10. EXPLAIN TO ME, MR. YEMINI.
Fo ,   Belgium   (06.14.16)
You write in your article that the "Palestinians" deserve freedom and self-determination. How do you explain that the 29th of November 1947 the United Nations voted resolution 181, a proposal (a none-binding one as are all United Nations General Assembly resolutions) for a partition of Palestine into a Jewish state and an... Arab state? Not a Palestinian one! A more correct definition would have been to speak about a Muslim state, because not all were Arabs, but also Muslims imported from Europe by the Turks. Is the so-called "Palestinian Nation" a spontaneous generation phenomena that happened between 1947 and 1964 like a spontaneous generation of flies on rotten meat, a common believe before Pasteur proved the contrary? So a Palestinian Nation didn't exist in 1947, and doesn’t exist today!

15. Ben-Dror Yemeni
C   (06.14.16)
i knew immediately that this was your opinion piece. as usual, you are eloquent and correct in your analysis. you make very clear that zionism has nothing to do with the murderous hatred of the jews by the muslims. this hatred has existed for well over a thousand years. this hatred has its seeds in islamic supremacy. yet tou err when you think that the conflict between jews and muslims can be solved by giving the arab palestininas a state. we cannot appease the muslims by giving them a new arab terror state. nor is there a legal basis to do so. the territory of the west bank was never a sovereign. there was never a palestinian sovereign. furthermore, the conflict is a religious one. that is in fact the very conclusion one draws from your article. the muslims were persecuting the jews before israel declared independence. it is islamic supremacist ideology which fuels all jihadi attacks and activities.
16. If you fart upwards, where the smell go
Jon ,   USA   (06.15.16)
I was so impressed with Fo from Belgium. To base a whole discussion on the middle east based on what name the UN 70 years ago gave to a new state to be requires a lot of thinking power, analysis, checking the sources and I am sure mauy sleepless night. I apploud youand your intelect.
17. The Israeli Left ignores the truth
Andi Ziegelman ,   Haifa,Israel   (06.15.16)
The truth is that the goal of both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority is the total destruction of all of Israel. This goal has been imparted to the populations under their control. Not all Palestinians agree, but most do. Destroy-Israel is the reason for attacks of Palestinians on Israelis. Nothing else. Ron Huldai is wrong.
18. Yemini dreams of returning to Iraq
LostHisJewishSoul ,   Jerusalem   (06.15.16)
Yemini like so many Iraqi Jews some how lost their Jewish souls after 3,000 years of exile in Babylon they became Arabs and loved their second class situation sadly they were forced by reality to come here along with many (Assimilated German Jews) bringing with them the same Self Hate they had grown up with they of course became Leftist Media celebrities along with other Iraqi "Jews" poets artists etc etc etc. Only Jews who love their Jewish Faith Love their Jewish People Love their Jewish Civilization a small but strong remnant will build this country and in the end be victorious the others will disappear into the footnotes of Jewish History
19. Huldai's Yemini"Rivlin's gift,"Self Hate
TheLeftDestroys ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.15.16)
Huldai came from a failed socialist society ( Kibbutz Hulda ) and now plies his failed world view on Tel Aviv , wake up Tel Avivians he just justified your murders ! Only a strong healthy Jewish society healthy in mind and body can save the nation from the current leftist dominated weak kneed Assimilated Israeli Jewish tyrants who corrupt our youth with foul media garbage ( read sewerage) The quicker the Tel Aviv Culture is minimalized the better for the health of the nation
20. the story
suhayla   (06.15.16)
the man searche under a light for a coin that was lost in a dark place ..this is palastine the lighted place
21. Why is thee Netanyahu government bad 4 Israel?
bob k ,   Santa Barbara USA/   (06.15.16)
I almost always agree withr. Ben dror Yemini. However, he needs to explain why the current government is bad for Israel' I believe that Netanyahu's strong rejection of Obama's pro-Palestinian stance is very good for Israel's safety.
22. #20 Suhayla your fate is the dark place
NoHope ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.15.16)
Your civilization came from the dark and never got out of the dark and never will Some nations go from light unto light others from dark into light still others like the Arab Palestinians go from dark into dark this is their fate
