British police don't usually carry arms and a good thing too because they cannot be trusted with them.They do carry arms when there is a need to. This present case in Israel is very similar to the case of the death of Jean Charles de Menezes.He was shot dead by an armed police officer in London in the way I described because it was thought that he was involved in the July 2005 London bombings and was wearing an explosive vest.The big difference was that unlike the Arab terrorist,the unfortunate Brazilian,de Menezes,was totally uninvolved and innocent.
