May your memory always be honored and cherished by all who value human rights.

the death of elie wiesel brings forth the unfathomable Shem.
we are not even allowed to pronounce his name, simply calling him "the name."
we are commanded to refrain from giving even the slightest human attribute to the one we consider our creator.
yet he has many names, including ruach hakadosh, elohim rachamim, israel, el, adonai, shomer, rock, adonai echad,
many jews and even others attribute to the most holy one human attributes whereby he can order humanity's affairs like a benevolent father from above his throne.
thus many jews seek divine meaning in the horrors of the shoa.
such search is meaningless.
the most holy one cannot be blamed that the nations refused to accept his torah when it was offered them.
he is not to blame that the nations do not follow the laws of moses, nor even the seven noachadic laws.
the perpetrators came to life with free will and the capacity to judge for themselves. they chose to use their free will for evil deeds.
they alone, are to blame for their vile deeds.
every day i thank the most holy one that i am not one of the perpetrators.
i lost much, very much, but i still have my humanity.
dear elie wiesel, may your memory be a blessing.
