2. peacefully remembering slain human beings
No part of the Bible talks about revenge. I can guarantee this because God says, "Vengeance is Mine." to us. So His words 'wipe out' any doing of vengeance of ours. So we can't ever take vengeance on people. I am so sad the horror of being slain has happened to this girl- a child is so hopeful, so believing in a better day, and a good world. we shouldn't destroy this joy children have, we need it. Secondly, no scripture verse that talks about us doing anything other than not sinning is not godly. I say this because God talks all throughout the Bible about salvation. So, as a person raised and educated in the Christian texts, and understanding as a descendant of an Israelite, I am saying God did not write the Pauline epistles and Paul wrote them, or some human wrote them; but God did not. They are not from God, and so they are not from the Holy Spirit either. The words in Paul's epistles have led to more bloodshed than any other portion of the Christian text- and we have to get to know God. He does not talk like this; nor does His Son. Thirdly, people can believe or 'hold onto' Paul's words, and that is their choice, but we cannot accept that people quoting those words for harm are dong righteousness. They are not- they contribute to much harm. The girl who was slain, all the many people who were slain, over violence- and violence based speech, suffered far too much harm. They should never have died. Evil comes from evil, and we need to see it as just that. But comfort comes from truth- and the truth is that we need to see events as either evil, or not evil. We need to keep it as simple as God does in His word in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. So if someone killed someone unjustly, we have to ask " did this evil come from evil?" or was it coming from some other place? And then we can deal with it with justice. Move towards 'clear', don't move towards 'complex'. God keeps things clear. So should we, it brings great comfort in greatly painful times we have had a lot of lately. You can fight me on the Pauline epistle statement, but I didn't say it to cause violence. I said it to reduce violence and lead people away from killing each other over it, and help you get back to what God is telling your heart He really said: be kind to other people- He made them too, and He loves them. Pauline epistles is about difference, it's okay to talk about difference, because at the bottom of that discussion is the root, the diamond we all need to hear- we human beings have very few differences. Talking to each other helps us find that out.So it's okay to talk it out, just be ready to see that at the bottom of all our humanity, when we get down to our "feet" lies the fact that we are all very much alike. We were made alike- so therefore, we are. My condolences to all the slain of the last two weeks.I wish you could have lived your lives.
