1. What is this stupid law?
keren tzafon ,   Israel   (07.18.16)
Israel's answer to the glut of social work grads? This well meaning bill law has not been thought through.. anyone who wants their marriage saved will try mediation without coercion. For the rest, the government has no place in their homes and bedrooms. It is scary to think that an abused spouse can be forced to meet "on a friendly basis" with the abusing spouse. Abusers' public persona is usually very congenial, which is how the spouse got trapped in the first place. Never mind that OUR TAXES will fund this gross interference in people's lives. Stupid law. repeal it before it does damage.
2. Re: Mediation
Heleen Abramson ,   Haifa   (07.18.16)
I personally think this is a terrific idea. I am a certified divorce mediator in FL and a Mental Health Counselor. In Pinellas CO, where I lived, all disputed divorce cases with children involved were mandated for mediation. As a therapist, I represented the children and looked out for their best interests. I also tried to first off, see if the marriage could be saved. I did not represent either parent, but the children and the results were much healthier divorces with less animosity to the children and using the children as a weapon.
