Why didn't Bibi wait till Obama was out of office? I thought that that was the original plan, so we'd get a much better deal with a new and hopefully more Israel-friendly president. As Obama can't or shouldn't be able to force/pressurise Bibi to make a deal now, can he?

anger is not the basis for the foreign policy of a superpower. israel is america's most reliable ally in the middle east. without the pro-american democratic jewish state, the situation in the middle east would be infinitely worse. furthermore, obama lied about the iran deal as was revealed by ben rhodes. obama hates israel. the proposed military assistance is meant to degrade israel's own defence industry thus making israel even more dependent on the us. regardless of what obama wants, the next president and the next congress will not be bound by all aspects of this deal.
