Meantim send $s
2. who's this 'news' to?
richard sherwin ,   herzliyah   (08.15.16)
maybe house the ex-householders in the destroyed tunnels Hamas built? that's where everyone knows their building supplies went, go, and will go. Even UNRWA knows this (and theyre about the biggest nosee nohear nospeak no know monkies in Gaza and Judea-Samaria). And now even the swindled (I hope the passive here really applies) Xn charities know this. All it means is the missiles have to find other standing civilian homes to hide in, under, behind, etc. So? since when is what we all know, news?
3. "UN officials asked for $724 million,
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (08.15.16)
but only received $257 million." The majority of donor countries are not morons. They probably know that the bulk of the money is channeled to dig tunnels and military fortifications, apart from those who inflate the coffers of Hamas' leaders. But another important reason is : Why to build houses, which part of them are likely to be destroyed in next round of war with Israel, in addition to other leveled and damaged buildings whose the donors will be asked to fund ?
4. By the same token - how much further have we got
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (08.15.16)
To Peace and Palestinian Statehood?

Apart from the usual almost zombie like platitudes repeating the same mantras over and over and over again...for 70 years!

So what do we learn from this?

That the old ideas are WORN OUT

To coin a phrase

NEW THINKING - NEW POSSIBILITIES - NEW OPPORTUNITIES

A Palestine in an expanded Gaza created from land exchanges with Israel and possible land purchases from Egyptian Sinai

5. Gaza "reconstruction" going to slow?
tiki ,   belgium   (08.15.16)
With all the money "diverted" to Hamas war machine this shouldn't come as to much of a surprise.

Donors are getting tired of seeing their money going down the tunnel instead of housing.
6. This is what happend when...
TC   (08.15.16)
...You let a terrorist organization govern your country.
If only they could learn something this time...
7. "There have been no meaningful exports from Gaza"
(08.15.16)
Of course not. Beside Terrorism, what are they able/willing to export?
8. So, if there's another war begun by Hamas
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (08.15.16)
how many pal homes will be destroyed?
It is then possible by acts of war itself to remove Gaza and reduce it to rubble.
And, to think how I hated the very word, 'war.'
LOL.
9. tike, Belgium
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (08.15.16)
Not all donors.
Many of the 'donors' only want to see some dead Jews and, of course, their kept to a minimum while Hamas ghoulishly displays the dead and wounded pals they wanted for PR in the first place.
No one really cares how many pal die especially the 'leaders' of Hamas who are located miles away in a safe place while their 'supposed cowardly leaders' hide in holes with young boys.
10. Sammy or, another possibility.
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (08.15.16)
One biblical in proportion,
I just posted the solution re: the US Marines and how they ended Arab Muslim piracy.
Seems to me act two of the same response would work like a charm.
No pals, no problem.
11. Moshe donors still gave the pals $ 257 million too much
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (08.15.16)
but, if they thought that would kill some Jews..
Why not?
Face it, anti semitism runs deep and most dummies give to the pals hoping some Jews will die due to their 'gift.'
I smile knowing G-d chose the Jews and their "Promised land."
If Hamas starts another war, it may be the last war.
12. Money goes to Israel
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (08.15.16)
Rebuilding money goes to Israel or Israeli companies to pay for building materials. Money does not go to Gaza, to Hamas or to the PLO.
13. 78% of humanitarian aid to Gaza is siphoned off by israel
James   (08.15.16)
78% of humanitarian aid to Gaza is siphoned off by israel

Shir Hever, an Israeli economist who has spent years investigating the economics of the occupation, recently published a report that proves that 78% of humanitarian aid to Palestine “ends up in Israeli coffers”.

The World Bank very conservatively estimated that the Palestinians lose at least $3.4bn a year in resources plundered by israel.

The Palestinians being a captive market, they have access to few goods and services that are not Israeli. The dairy firm Tnuva enjoys a monopoly in the West Bank worth $60 million annually. 85% of cement is provide by one Israeli firm, Nesher.

Aid diversion, meanwhile, occurs because Israel controls all movement of people and goods. Israeli restrictions mean it gets to charge for transportation and storage, and levy “security” fees.
14. It seems that anti-Israeli bunch of readers
