4. Reports on a Putin Palestinian Israeii
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (08.24.16)
Peace Initiative

Perhaps this fresh attempt will mean fresh ideas and a fresh approach?

Perhaps Putin has the political weight to say to the parties

In addition to the old ideas for Palestinian Statehood -
1. Unified Palestine in Gaza and West Bank
2. Independent Gaza and Independent West Bank
3. Gaza federated with Egypt and West Bank federated with Jordan

Will he broach the plan that Palestinians have been advocating for years and not tread the same old worn out ideas that have led nowhere for 70 years?

That of a unified and contiguous Palestine in an expanded Gaza created from land exchanges with Israel West Bank and possible purchases of territory from Egyptian Sinai

Will Putin at the very least help to open up this debate, get planners and politicians to work out the detail then put it the plan to the Palestinian and Israeli people
5. Sounds to me like a great excuse for a Canadian residency
Israeli expat ,   Down under   (08.24.16)
Israel is not Iran, Syria, Sudan or even Russia. Unlike these countries, there is no persecution or life danger in Israel for those who are opposed to it politically. This lowlife is merely trying to get Canadian residency the easy way, by selling out and spitting on his native country. Disgusting. I hope Canada will not be fooled and see this opportunist serpent for what he is.

Take some of your collaborator colleagues with you. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Dear Mr Gilad Paz
While I do not support your views and will never. You are not persecuted here. This is a democratic country, all views are allowed and everyone to speak their mind. However, the general public doesn;t agree with you and the likes of you does not make you a persecuted person. If you truly believe in your ideals then stay in Israel and fight to be heard not run away.
Canada shouldn't accept your claim because we are a democracy, we vote for our leaders, we just don't vote for the extreme leftest views you hold because they will destroy what so many have died trying to protect.
Have a nice life
9. What kind of "Nakba" is he going to find in Canada too?
Steve Benassi ,   Minneapolis USA   (08.24.16)
He is a professional trouble maker and will not be able to sit idle.
10. Since when is self-alienation identical to "political persec
David Turner ,   Richmond   (08.24.16)
Poor guy. Only a "lawyer" could rationalize that "self-alienation" is identical to "political persecution." But, then, "persecution" does sound sexier than self-flagellation!
11. Israel understands the 3 Existential Events
(08.24.16)
'I support BDS because I don't think Israel understands any other language."

Israel doesn't understand BDS…

Israel does understand the 3 Existential Events and where this has left the apartheid state:

1 – the Iran nuclear deal
2 – the incoming UN Security Council resolution against Israel, supported by the US (abstention)
3 – the successfully advancing ICC cases against settlements, Protective Edge, etc.
12. No persecution in Israel
Stan ,   Israel   (08.24.16)
To all those who say that there is no persecution in Israel and that everyone can say what they wish, I suggest you try being an Arab in our country or even worse a Palestinian. You will soon be locked up for incitement (without a trial)
There are people being kept in Prison for years without a trial because "THEY ARE A DANGER TO SECURITY"
13. To Stan (#12), you have a vivid imagination
Jake   (08.25.16)
Israeli Arabs "locked up for incitement without trial"? Really? Israel failed even to boot the Arab MK inciters like Zooabi, Zahalka, and Ghattas out of the Knesset. Arabs in Israel are allowed a wide range of freedom of expression beyond what is normally permitted in Western nations. Your claim is without factual basis.

As for your claim about palestinians, there is an ongoing war of terrorism being waged against Israel, propped up by murderous incitement. The perpetrors are primarily palestinian. However, even Israeli Jews who are accused of incitement to terrorism, such as Meir Ettinger, have also been held in administrative detention without charge.

Every Western democratic country has practiced administrative detention against non-citizen enemy combatants and terror suspects. Ever heard of Guantanamo?
