The permit or not permit discussion is total BS, the real issue is is that once again Netanyahu gave up to the Haredis so these latest wouldn't bring down his government.

2. Everyone rests on Shabbat - especially servants.
Eliyahu Konn   (09.07.16)
And so we miss the whole point of Shabbat. Because we were servants to Mitzraim seven days a week we are suppose to do the opposite and make sure that we don't do the same to servants here in Israel. But where is the kindness in the government or the religious to work anyone on Shabbat?

"In the wake of the crisis, Israel Railways has decided to include more non-Jewish employees to perform the weekend infrastructure and maintenance work."

Pay attention. This is the rabbinic end-round where they prove they are merely religious opportunists lining their pockets. The Ten Matters specifically say to also rest your servants on Shabbat. The rabbis would seem quite religious to allow the shabbis goy to work but there is not such a thing in the Torah as a shabbis goy. As usual the ultra religious and the ultra pagan continue to play Israel and those that would keep the Torah.
