1. we are at peace; our neighbors arent
richard sherwin ,   herzliyah   (09.21.16)
if we had given up on peace, we'd have done an 'assad' 'population transfer' a long time ago. say the 2d intifada. and shut down gaza like Egypt has. and told the UN to close UNRWA, its NGOs, and its mouth. as it is, we try to survive them all...neighbors, frenemies, enemies, fools, liars, and traitors. let alone suicidal visionaries -- i.e. universal utopias which only require israel's suicide and jews disappearing into some gene pool we're promised will never turn into inquisitions and limpieza del sangre and nazi euthanasian work camps. we believe in Gd, thank you. but we dont believe in you. without better evidence than nice words, scandanavian condescension, and UN liars.
try the palestinians. theyre better revisionists of truth, fact, detail, and promises than even the salafists and the UN combined.
2. enjoy the beer
Richard E Sherwin ,   Herzliya   (09.21.16)
we've got some good beers and even better wines, so skoal! or whatever passes for enjoy yourself. peace talk is always a good reason to get drunk. alcoholic politics no worse than the supposedly sober stuff passing for 'reality' at UN, EuroBrussels, NGOs, Syria, Iran, Gaza, and Ramallah. orange juice doesnt lower the fantasy factor, it seems. nor the vision of universal peace that'd be realized if only israel and jews were to assimilate into an arab democracy (if one could find one) or any other global imperialism promising jews no inquisition of limpieza da sangre of nazi euthanasian work camps. ah well, a drunk's a drunk's a drunk's. and there's always a magic potion to cure tomorrow's hangover.
3. Oh for fanden: Skaal og hold din kaeft! What a chutzpah:
(09.21.16)
to talk to US, Israelis about Piss!!?? Like we're interested in perpetual war....?
4. talking to 'normal Israeli's in bars about peace.
tiki ,   belgium   (09.21.16)
Maybe 'that's what's wrong with his approach.

He should talk about 'peace to 'normal Palestinian Arabs in their bars & café's.

He should listen to the students in Arab Universities, hear the incitement in Palestinian schools, listen to the Palestinian Media and watch their children programs etc.etc.etc.

He might learn something when he and his arrogant EU friends will be willing to listen to what they have to say, something that the 'normal Israeli already knows!

But, it's a good excuse to have a few beers in a bar and call it "work" for peace.

Why is it that the average EU politician/diplomat believes they know what's ''good for Israel" when all that they know about war & peace is experience from the safety of their office

They seem to forget that the Jewish people have survived the Romans, the Spanish Inquisition, East European pogroms, the Holocaust and all the Israeli/Arab wars.

They seem to forget that the Jews haven't forgotten they had to flee the European continent from the likes of Lady Ashton (who appointed him) and the many Faaborg Anderson & friends and it's the same continent with the usual suspects & chutzpah trying again to determine what's good for the Jews!
5. Israel must embrace peace through victory
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.21.16)
Throughout history, long term peace has been achieved through resounding victory. The most successful peacemakers of the last several centuries were Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin. By resoundingly defeating Germany and Japan, they created permanent peace throughout most of Europe and Asia.

Israel must embrace peace through victory. Israel could achieve total victory over our mortal "Palestinian" foes with barely a shot. Simply end the mad flow of Israeli food, money, electricity, materials, work permits etc. to evil fictional "Palestine", and it would be toast within weeks.
6. Pipe Dreams Flower Power Forever
Avi L.   (09.22.16)
When is he waking up to reality?

Of course the guy feels enlightened, on "the right side of history" ... mainly he is a jobnik, a bureaucrat, who, his all live, has been uttering empty words for a living.

The kind of professional dupe who goes to Tehran and get all warm by mollahs declarations of "peace".
7. Will the smug Europeans ever understand
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (09.22.16)
That Palestinian "aspiration for statehood" exists as long as it nears their real goal – Israel's destruction. These European people, partly gullible and other malevolent, want Israel to adopt the Palestinian stance about its future borders (the Green Line), and promote this desire by funding far-left Israeli NGOs and building structures for Arabs in deserted areas of Judea and Samaria.

8. EU weakness towards Palestinians and unfairness to Israeli
AyatollahGhilmeini ,   Qum Elit   (09.23.16)
Mr. Ambassador,

When the EU funds illegal settlements in the West Bank, Israelis will mistrust you.
When the EU funds groups undermining Israeli democracy and anti-Israel propaganda, Israelis will mistrust you.
When the EU is silent or accuses "both sides" of incitement, Israelis will mistrust you.
When the EU allows its members states to do the things above and more, Israelis will mistrust you.
When the EU does nothing about the violence European Jews face daily on the streets of Europe, Israelis will mistrust you.
That you have to even ask, how can we respect you?
9. Loyal Arabs have human rights in Israel. No national rights
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.24.16)
Hi Luiz. Its been a long time. Like always, I sincerely support your heartfelt support of Israel, though I often disagree with you. The position of Arabs in Israel must be similar to the position of minorities in America. Loyal Arabs, who accept Israel as a sovereign Jewish state, should enjoy all human rights. But no national rights. If they want to live in an Arab state, they have 22 to choose from, and many more Muslim states they may also live in.
