Victor Ivrii ยท Professor at University of Toronto It was 1954, several years after Independence War, during which Arab agressors aimed to commit genocide and British were helping them. Dozens of Israeli civilians were killed each year due to cross-border attacks, partially from Egypt occupied Gaza strip.
In comparison, Israeli agents were placing bombs to avoid any casualties--even if there was a good reason to give Arabs to taste their own medicine (and indeed there was a little damage and no casualties). Despite of this, two of them were executed.
The article does not mention any of these circumstances and the documented brutal torture applied to Israelis is barely mentioned.
