Maybe this a the best reason why Israel doesn't need a 'chief' rabbi of anything. Each synagogue should have a rabbi or two to handle the needs of that synagogue. Every issue, every family question, should be handled within that synagogue. Stop the game of who's going to be 'chief' rabbi.

There's no High Priest anymore and there's no reason for some 'chief' to try and take his place. Local rabbis can band together and decide larger issues that effect all of them, but a single authority is not needed. Power corrupts and, as we have now seen, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Why is there a position of Chief Rabbi ?

Why is the idea that a man can study and his wife work: NOT the subject of
RIDICULE...by other Jewish scholars ?

Where does the idea come from that in Israel, the entire country has to pay
for $chool$ where the sciences. foreign language, computer technology are NOT taught; where students studies are limited to Jewish matters.
