Heshy Friedman ,   Brooklyn new york   (02.03.17)
If the israeli government evicted the Jews in Amona, why should Trump support settlements . If they do idiotic things why should Trump risk himself into supporting any further construction.
2. Nothing Israel does will be good enough for the Arabs
MadDad ,   Johannesburg RSA   (02.03.17)
Unfortunately the last couple of decades have shown that no matter what Israel offers in the hopes of peace will be good enough for the Arabs who have ridiculous demands.

Rivkah   (02.03.17)
Son of haShem returns. So building in the settlements should go on. HaShem gave certain lands to Abraham and his descendants through Jacob and that is what the focus should be: the promises of haShem not the lies of Satan.

6. Gordon BENNET (idiom for exasperation!)
Tim ,   Brighton   (02.03.17)
Surely there are BETTER ways of handling this issue than going 'hammer and tongs' 'all guns blazing'

Yes there may be logistical reasons for some building but surely for honestys sake Israelis, our friends and supporters on all sides of the divide need to know the reasons why any constructions are necessary

american foreign policy for the past fifty years and more accepts the
fiction that the territory referred to as the west bank is arab territory
de jure.
nothing could be further from the truth.
there has never been an independent arab sovereign on the
territory referred to as the west bank.
that territory has been the colony, a vassal state, of various imperial
states and suzerains for the last thousand and four hundred years.
jerusalem has never been the capital of any arab or muslim sovereign.

indeed, thhe territory of the west bank was the combined kingdom
of israel and judah for a thousand years. jerusalem, city of king david.
seat of zion. has been a jewish city for three thousand years.
the two jewish temples were built in jerusalem, the first by king Solomon,
the second by returning exiles from babylon.
jews never stopped praying for jerusalem and for the remembrance of
jerusalem.
while muslims carried out a thousand year imperial wars on three continents,
jews remained faithful to their spiritual capital and the territory of
judah and shomron throughout their forced exile by the romans and
the horrific persecutions, expulsions, inquisitions, pogroms, which
culminated in the holocaust against the jews of europe.
it would have been easy to renounce the land and Judaism, but we
jews have an eternal covenant with the most holy one who offered
us the torah and the laws of moses, conscience of the universe.
just as the most holy one did not ask much of us, we ask not much
of the nations plotting against us. all we ask is let us be.
