1. Everyone hates us so just keep doing wrong?
Lorraine   (02.22.17)
Is the author suggesting the Israel fall--in perpetuity--into the mire of being an occupier--ever sending money and other resources desperately needed elsewhere to feed the occupation and the settlements--and feeding the loss of morale to young people forced to lord over others? Or, if citizenship is offered to the Palestinians on the West Bank, creating a large category of second-class citizens and compromising the Jewish character of the state and its democracy? Israelis, as well as Palestinians, are harmed by occupation and settlements. If there were two states then yes--the hard core anti-ZIonists and haters would continue to hate--but they currently hide behind justified international opprobrium of the occupation and settlements. With two states the haters would be more exposed for what they are and would have a harder time recruiting others to their cause. The Palestinians would, at last, be free and responsible for themselves. And Israel would be free of being occupiers and have more money and resources to spend on, if needed, more up-to-date high tech modes of defense, now that warfare is changing. The author here falls prey to a toxic formula: everyone hates us so just keep doing wrong--and biting Israel's nose to spite Israel's face along the way.
2. What if?
Bertram ,   London, UK?   (02.22.17)
Indeed. The author raises important issues which are not easily dismissed. Prediction is a precarious business, especially in international politics. All potential solutions - two-states, one-state, one and a half states and who knows what - carry immense risk. But if no real attempt is made to get out of the impasse you can bet your life that nothing will happen, except of course that the 'no solution' status quo option will certainly guarantee continued misery, violence and insurrection. Maybe Israelis and Palestinians can continue to live with that - it's only 50 years since the Six-Day War. What's another 50 years for Jews and Arabs to perpetuate their mutual victim status at the expense of each other?.
3. Israel would not exist today had Oslo been implemented
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.22.17)
If, heaven forbid, enough Israelis could be convinced to allow the monstrous Two State Final Solution to be implemented, Israel would cease to exist within a decade. Had Arafat agreed to Oslo, and had Israel allowed it to go forward, Israel would not exist today. The author is correct that BDS and all Jew hating initiatives would be full steam ahead EVEN if Israel insanely allowed the Two State Final Solution. But the point would is moot, since the Two State Final Solution would destroy Israel within a few years, as it is intended to do.
4. If I stop rule over thy Palestinians
Josh ,   USA   (02.22.17)
They will not fall madly in love with me. so I will send my kids e dry few years to get killed. What a stupid logic
5. Yes,you ever optimistically lightheaded Bertram of
(02.23.17)
Londonistan: there is no solution in the foreseeable future.
First of all, we must stop calling Arabs living here/occupying Israeli land "Palestinians". No such creature ever existed, nor shall it exist, Allah willing! Second: any piece of paper signed by a Muslim entity is already worth less than the original, blank sheet it resides on.
Third: only when the clueless "world" realizes that Islam is a fascist ideology that must by eradicated with all means available, shall a glimmer of "Pax Mundi" enter the equation.
Amen & sleep well.
6. direct your article to herzog who is clueless
jerzy   (02.23.17)
any 2 state peace deal is worthless, absoutely worthless for the arugments in your article among others. herzog who is a fearful panic stricken submissive, buys into 2 states unable to see what you see. and israel would then be in shrunken borders. and herzog is not alone. he has quite a few sumpathizers like lapid livni and even bibi.

they all suffer one major weakness- they all are incapable of fighting to the last man, and are afraid any and all casualties.

waht israeli in his right mind would follown herzog-almost none.
7. Dignity &"Palestinians": and you're calling me "feeble"?!
(02.26.17)
I agree that "Londonistan" is bit tedious(true nevertheless).BTW: you know who I am, long time no speak....
Islam has to be removed from the West & (sphere of influence). Primarily by denying it financial support. Time to remove oil as the prime energy source. It can be done quite fast, if we allocate enough dough. No, one cannot kill an idea/religion/ideology even by committing genocide. Not my cup of tea either. But I (in contrast to you) am not willing to sit idly by, saying "Oh well, nothing we can do lest it soils our snow-white, progressively liberal consciousness" And yes, some solid ass-whoopin' by military force can do wonders, even to sickos of the Islamic persuasion!
8. two-state solution
Lazerbenabba ,   London, England   (02.27.17)
There would be an even bigger and more deadly problem on Israel's borders as no Arab political party will ever accept the State of Israel whether they have an independent Palestinian state...Gaza is independent and this carbuncle has never ceased its gnat bites against us, can you imagine another Nasrallah who effectively rules Lebanon from his bunker.
