1. Aliyah & Jobs
Tova ,   Canada   (04.12.17)
No matter what country you immigrant to - jobs are always difficult to find in the professions we hold. Appreciate that you are in Israel. Jobs are difficult for any Israeli - not just the French. Be creative like the Israeli -

Many immigrants come to Canada and expect to be millionaires within the year and live a lavish life. Appreciate that you are in Israel. If you can't find a job in your profession - learn another profession.
2. New immigrants should be given the whole picture
Ben ,   Beer Sheva   (04.12.17)
Many immigrants are given a very rose-tinted version of what life in Israel is like. Many times they're made to believe they can pick up their lives exactly from where they left off.

Immigrating to any countries is challenging, but here you have the additional burden of language, cultural shock, hardship navigating through the unfathomable red tape. And why do I say unfathomable? While it is true that bureaucracy is not a problem only in Israel, here the process and the forms can change significantly depending on the office clerk.

They should be given a realistic assessment of what to expect when they get here and they should definitely have working knowledge of Hebrew before they make Aliyah. That would help them tremendously. Having said that, been there, done that and do not regret it. It may take some time, maybe a few years, but everything always works out.
3. Years ago, a former NYC resident in Tel Aviv who was a parki
Rivkah   (04.12.17)
parking lot attendant said he could just barely make it on his pay in Israel while in NYC he was more prosperous and had a much better paying job. HOWEVER, HE WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO NYC where he had more because he got so much more from being in Israel that is intangible. He said he is HAPPY in Israel while in NYC he was perpetually stressed and upset. SOMETIME, LESS IS MORE.
4. THE SYSTEM
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS ,   SAFED OBVIOUS   (04.12.17)
There is a hierarchy here in Israel , I repeat a HIERARCHY , which means in simple terms that native -born israelis are first in line and favoured before new immigrants ,who are usually forced to requalify at considerable expense ,both of time and money.
5. NEWSFLASH:
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (04.12.17)
Israelis do not want new immigrants to suceed ,or at least not to become too successful in Israel.
6. Immigrants :- there are no jobs even for Israelis.

7. you are safer in israel
manny   (04.12.17)
take any job until the market opens up for your trade or profession. france is unsafe as it is led by pernnial cowards.

israel is the safest place for you so don't kid yourself.

the only thing that makes israel is unsafe are the oslo concession policies of bibi and hanegbi.
8. bennett needed as pm
james   (04.12.17)
lapid and bibi are far too weak, lack guts to lead in war and peace.

it is so obvious that israel should be supporting kurdish independence as a kurdish state is deserved. it would also serve as a breaker on arab instransigence and a buffer against iran.

so what does bibi do towards that end-almsot nothing. he is as gutless as lapid and herzog. he has no leadership skils . h e fears erodogan so he apolgoizes to h im. he made concessions to obama and now to trump. and this is a commando??!! With a commando like him. israel would lose every eear. his performance in gaza on 2 occasions was pathetic.

10. Life for some olim js still the same.

Is there a French zionist office in Israel to help new Olim?
Has Vitamin P or Protexia returned to haunt new Olim?
I arrived as an Oleh in early 1973 and found the British Zionist Federation absolutely useess to help in locating appropriate and sustainable employment

I was told that I had arrived becuase I wanted a Volvo and a villa, having made aliyah from Norway. I did not know whether to laugh or cry.

I went to theHistadrut for help with a manager storming into the office where I was being interviewed who made the same remark above. I showed him my ribbon, and Miluim booklet and dog tags. He apologised Twice I attended in]terviews to be told that I was just the person and later told that the person that they wanted to be replaced had too many connections, even though, both times I was told that they were unable to get rid of the then employee. Oh yes, I joined the IDF within 10 months of arrival and still no help even though I actua;;y enjoyed being in the army, exccept of course, cthe Yom Kippur War was nothing to enjoy.

After just knocking on doors and being asked who sent me, with 2 1/.4 years, I finally said enough is enough.to return to the UK, very sadly.

I attened an interview with my sister who worked for an Israeli agency who because i was settled in Israel wanted to go on aliyah. I was told by the Shasliakh, that people like me from England or America were not wanted,, the Russians are the life blood of Israel. It was all I could do not to thrash the sob!

To those French olim, if you can#'t work,., like me, a real hasrd headed Zionist (I thought not only the Arabs were my enemy, butr also too many Jews in their offices.) I can tell you that LKondonm is now one of tghe biggest French cities in the nworld with 300,000 living and working here. There is a serious shortage of hospital and clinical employees. Bon chance mes ami

CAPTAIN REALITY ,   SAFED CYNIC HOUSE   (04.13.17)
Why make life easy for new immigrants when ,with a little ingenuity and effort , one can make life difficult?
