How is it posssible that the Israeli government allows Barghouti and fellow prisoners to give interviews, in this case to the New York Times, when their own "Hasbara" is just a joke" ?

All Israelis will tell you that there were no"bad apples" They were all freedom fighters. Menahem Begin and his men in Etzel. Yitzhak Shamir and his men in Lehi. They killed British soldiers in their struggle for an independent Jewish state. Read Nelson Mandela's autobiography. You may find it strange that there was a time when it was acceptable for Jews to help others. Remember the Jewish students who were killed by a sheriff and his men for wanting to help the African Americans in their struggle for equality more than 50 years ago.

As expected more than 90% of the comments to this article favour Israel. That does not change the fact that NO COUNTRY IN THE WORLD has ever proclaimed that Israel has the right to settle on Palestinian land.
Bargouti, like Mandela is the natural leader of his people. Israel would do well to begin working with him, as de Klerk did in SA with Mandela. FO, Belgium asks "How is it possible" Maybe Netanyahu is beginning to see himself as a statesman, as allowed this interview.

4. Barghouti is like Assad and his wife Asma
assad and his wife deny that the syrian army used chemical weapons to murder syrian civilians, including children.
barghouti is a convicted mass murderer of israelis.
he is the head of tanzim and al-aksa martyr's brigade, fatah's terror arms.
barghouti will never be release from prison.

more family visits; academic studies; more television channels; cell phones; more canteen food. barghouti wants more of everything, especially privileges that would increase his ability to communicate with other members of the terror groups so as to plan more terror attacks against israelis.

6. New York Times and Barghouti
the new york times has become a propaganda paper which is totally subjective in its coverage. this is especially true of its coverage of israel.

The NY Times is just as bad as al-Jazeera .......... failing to note Barghouti has been tried and convicted for murder, and is serving five life sentences. Prison life for him should be hard. Who cares that he complains or starves himself?
