If Sweden’s foreign minister lauds UNESCO resolution, she certainly backed her decision on UN General Assembly Resolution 181. Indeed Resolution 181 says, and I quote: "Independent Arab and Jewish States and the Special International Regime for the City of Jerusalem administered by the United Nations". But the foreign minister Margot Wallström tries to forget that, nevertheless the Jewish Agency in total despair after the Shoah accepted Resolution 181, ALL the Arabs states rejected it, so it went off the table and became null and void. But more important, never forget that Resolution 181 didn't create the State of Israel. The International Legitimacy for its creation goes back to 1922 when the League of Nations voted unanimously by all its 51 members the Mandate for Palestine, a vote that gave the Jews an IRREVOCABLE RIGHT for an Independent State on the territory between the Sea and the Jordan River, including the Golan Heights, and of course the totality of the city of Jerusalem. The League’s vote became INTERNATIONAL LAW and was reaffirmed by ARTICLE 80 of the UN CHARTER.
