jews were already a nation over three thousand years ago.
national symbols date from the period of the rule of king
david and king solomon.
exiles in babylon wept for zion and were liberated.
the exile imposed by rome lasted much longer, and
jews wept and prayed for holy jerusalem and for zion.
eretz yisrael was liberated by jewish soldiers who
gave their lives for an independent jewish state in their
ancient ancestral homeland.
