1. Yes, they helped, but that does not mean they know the truth

on the ground in Israel. Unless the view of Muslims towards Israel deos nto change to a positive one, making an ISIS state on her border is a mistake. None of the Muslim countries can control their extremists in theri own countries and until then Israel needs to keep away from them.
2. Really?
d   (05.11.17)
Save for some individual activists, the American Jewry as a collective never lifted a finger for world Jews until early 1970s. And even after that, where have they been in October 1973 when Israel was almost on a verge of annihilation?
3. Russian Army Victory in WWII gave birth to state of israel
ironbutterfly ,   israel   (05.12.17)
US has NOTHING to do with that.
In fact US voted NO in 1948, against creation of israel.
USSR voted YES, and as a result US voted also YES in the second round.
If USSR would have voted NO, israel would NOT exist. Period.
4. Israelis and American Jews are different in many ways.
Michael ,   California, USA   (05.11.17)
The dear professor may say whatever he wants and as long as he wishes, but in reality the two people are drifting apart more and more. At the forefront are the religious differences because the Orthodox and Reform do not reconcile. But the separation is much wider than that and not bridged by monetary contributions that Israel receives. Actually, the greatest supporters of Israel in the US today are the Evangelical Christians.

situation is hard to avoid and only the very few can remain "untouched". On the other hand , they cannot by any means get inside our heads: Israelis are not like French or Danes or Poles. certainly not like Americans. This breeds mutual disdain. But let them feel better by sending us money. After all, they're keeping something that's more important than cash: their "way of life". I for one am not that perplexed by Trump being MY President- let them worry:-) (although I "voted' for him in my head. "be carefull what you wish for...."
7. Who is Zionist?
Avraham ,   Jerusalem   (05.12.17)
I agree with Scott Graham: there are players and there are their fans, it is not the same even in the case of Israel and the Zionism. For me a Zionist is a person who wants and prepares himself to make Aliya to Israel. Once he becomes the citizen of Israel, there is no need to call him the Zionist because his dream has been fulfilled (realized). All other Jews in Diaspora are only supporters and donators to promote the Zionist project and Israel (for which we should be thankful!). Even in Israeli politics there is no need for a "Zionist camp" party because all Jews living in Israel are just Israeli citizens having different political points of view!
