that would be okay for me IF there were no flights on shabbats too! Otherwise: how would you deal with the thousands and thousands of arriviing and outgoing People at Ben Gurion Airport? Leave them for the extremely overpriced taxi on shabbes? As long as there are people who simply HAVE to be transported there has to be transportation.
Or maybe these 'sages' want to turn all of Israel into Mecca, where only the true believers are allowed in? Maybe women no longer deserve the freedom to drive? Will the burka become mandatory women's clothing? Netanyahu is sliding down a very slippery slope- and he better catch himself before he loses the next election.
If you want to observe Shabbat, then do it. But don't decide for me.
