1. These ganefs broke one of the biggest Don'ts of the
Incredulous   (06.27.17)
10 commendments. "Lo Ti'gnov." Thou shalt not steal. And yet they have the audacity to hold themselves out as observant Jews?
They deserve everything that is about to land on them.
2. The IRS should audit everyone related to these crooks.
David ,   Hartford USA   (06.27.17)
Look how they're smiling! Rip the kipa off his head and toss him in prison. Sounds to me like it 'takes a village' to make a swindle as large as this. Put all of them in prison, including the wives. "Oh yes, I used food stamps every week. My husband's a poor rabbi." Yes, she's also a swindler and needs prison time.Maybe audit the entire community to see who was involved.

I guess "Thou Shalt Not Steal" was one law the 'rabbi' thought he didn't have to follow. (But wearing a kipa was!) I wonder what other laws he preached about and didn't obey? Adultery? Slander? Lying?

What in heck did this 'rabbi' do on Yom Kippur? What a sleazebag. Let's hope the synagogue has the integrity to fire him. (Unless they were all in on it!)

Are these Chabad rabbis or just your local blacksuits who wanted to run a scam? Maybe every rabbi needs to be audited...
3. All religions have them the hurt they cause is immearsurable
TheyHurtTinnocent ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.27.17)
the worse is they blacken the name of good religious leaders and
thoroughly damage the souls of millions of good people of faith
the damage such crimes do immeasurable
4. Stealing in the name of the "Lord"
Maurice ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (06.27.17)
This is not an isolated incident. It is part of the religious culture to steal, cheat, lie as their Hashem will forgive them. Not to speak of sexual abuse. Deri, Metsger, Pinto, Abu Hatseira those are their examples.
5. There's a special room in hell for these thieves.
(06.29.17)
The bottom of the barrel.
6. How Shocking
Howard Kane ,   Jerusalem   (07.03.17)
"New Jersey rabbi and wife suspected of illegally soliciting over $1 million from federal public assistance programs by underreporting incomes." Israelis are of course, astounded by this headline. No one around here has ever heard of such a thing.
Anthony Kay: so you feel that the judicial process is a waste of time. Why even bother with a trial? If the police arrest someone -- they are automatically guilty as charged, Same thing often happens in Israel: "convicted by the media (and commenters)."
Adina Leitner: it's true what you say. But, we have to reiterate endlessly to ourselves and to our children that we are not entitled to take monies that are not ours. Every one of us can use some introspection.
7. Benefits fraud
Lazerbenabba ,   London, England   (07.04.17)
A Rabbi, a Bishop, a Cardinal, a Priest, a monk, a nun...all representaives of religious orders and yet all susceptible to greed, dishonesty, and all the human frailties and yet we are supposed to hold them in regard...a joke if it was not so tragic that so many are taken in by these purveyors of fantasy and superstition.
Give me a straight forwrad crook anyday than these hypocrites.
