1. Mutual Defense Pact
John Prudden ,   Irvine   (08.05.17)
“When Arab League endorsement, a barrier wall and the termination of Hamas’ control of Gaza is tied in to the mutual defense treaty, 75 percent of Israeli Jews supported a two-state resolution of the conflict.” If US made Israel 51st state we’d get 80% support for two-states!

Israel has a barrier wall and might get Hamas out of Gaza, but Israel will never get Arab League endorsement (without a state of Palestine AND reparations of some sort) and the US will never declare a mutual defense agreement with Israel. As per the Arab League, Israel always promises the moon and delivers nothing. As per the defense pact, it’s true the US has them with many countries: all strategic, stable, bilaterally advantageous, and DEFENSIVE. Israel has too long a history of (and many) preemptive attacks and one of these days she’s going to start a war the US won’t finish. It can’t be that Israel declares a US war.

Israel has wanted a mutual defense pact and Arab League inclusion, forever: what else can the US do for you?
2. Hmmm
Cameron   (08.06.17)
Better for the US to maintain a certain measure of distance and discretion.

We are bound close enough as is.

Wary of formally binding, obligatory agreements & treaties.
3. Darr comes up with a new angle to promote 2 states insanity

4. No comparison with Australia-Japan not being enemies in 1951

and far away thousands of miles from each other.

5. Like Australia-Japan distance move Arabs thousands of miles
Steve Benassi ,   Minneapolis USA   (08.06.17)
away from Israel for Peace.

This is the valid comparison.
6. Sorry.Israel cant rely on any treaty with ANYONE.Worth nothi

7. Total propaganda of the Undead Leftist Useful Tools! No:
(08.06.17)
no Israeli "majority" is supporting a Two State Final Solution!
8. what planet do you reside on? Trump Admin is currently...
Rafi ,   US   (08.06.17)
... unable to cross the street in a straight line in terms of its foreign policy.

Deep confusion reigns on No. Korea, China, Russia, Middle East, Germany, Afghan, Mexico, etc, etc...

Trump Admin doesn't know what they are doing tomorrow.... much less concluding NEW overseas alliances or pacts. Besides, right-wing isolationists Steve Bannon & co would never allow it.

Keep dreaming.

9. in terms of US under Trump Admin, this idea is dillusional
Rafi ,   US   (08.06.17)
- Trump Admin can't get their shit together on most current pressing foreign policy issues... much less take on new challenges such as this;

- Trump's right-wing isolationists S. Bannon, et al, will never consent to new alliances, pacts. (They're too busy dismantling the existing ones...)

In short, a formal Israel-US alliance has no remote basis under current realities...
10. No evil Two State Final Solution EVER! Understand?
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.08.17)
This dumb article is yet another futile leftist attempt to inflict the evil Two State Final Solution on Israel, by packaging it as a defense pact with the U.S. The foolish author, and all leftists, need to get it through their thick skulls the abominable Two State Final Solution is dead. It will NEVER happen. Understand?
