2. bribery?
David   (08.05.17)
The irony of this current allegation is that the alleged facts point to the opposite of the traditional pattern of political bribery. Traditionally, a politician involved in a bribe accepts monetary gifts in exchange for performing political acts. This is what occurred in the case of former PM Olmert.

Here the facts allege that the Prime Minister offered something of monetary value (reduced circulation of Israel Hayom) in exchange for a political act on the part of a newspaper publisher (less negative coverage). I don't think any politician has ever been charged with a bribe for such a fact pattern. It fits more traditionally into the category of potential abuse of power, and constitutional violations. Of course I understand that Israel has no constitution. But what these facts do not prove is any actual corruption on the part of the PM in any normal sense.

What the facts suggest is a PM intensely interested in remaining in office, not a PM with ulterior motives. And I dare say that everything else we know about Netanyahu suggests that he is a man motivated by an intense sense of mission. It would be a tragedy to lose him.
3. ynet and haaretz should be embarassed
james   (08.06.17)
ynet and haaretz who condemn bibi at every turn are in position to be taken seriously. their man, olmert, a convicted crook was treated with kid globes by them and the court. they should be ashamed.

as for bibi, if he is indicted, it is not a conviction. however, he will be so tied up with defense, that he should step down temporarily. if the prosecutor cannnot prove his case, then bibi should resume his position. but we are not even there. bibi by his bearing and manner does not show himself to be a crook/ so lets not rush to judgement.

anything ynet and haaretz says, for the most part, you can dump it in the garbage can.
4. undemocratic?
hwi ,   Germany   (08.06.17)
Bitan must be the master of Zen now .. standing in a demonstration he organized and calling other demonstrations undemocratic.

irony off: that just shows how much he and the likes of him try to bend reality to fit it to their wishes.
