Syria was never even meant to have the Golan, before the British got their mandate the Golan was part of Palestine but the French had a mandate to create Lebanon & Syria and the British had a mandate to create Israel and Iraq, the French controlled Mousal the British had the rest of Iraq so they traded the Golan for oil rich Mousal. So the Golan will not go back to Syria it belongs to Israel.
