2. Religious holidays should be celebrated voluntarily.
Michael ,   California, USA   (09.30.17)
No religious holiday is a national holiday in the US. I haven't checked, but the same is probably true for all the Western democracies. Christmas is not a religious holiday, of course, it was set by tradition during pagan times and is celebrated as an artistic event, not a religious one. So why not let people in Israel have national holidays that apply to all citizens in the country, not only to religious Jews who are and always will be the minority?

it is so clear to me and this is my opinion, that if current pollitical leaders such as bibi, herzog and gabbay, livni and lapid had been in charge during the 1973 war, israel would have lost. bibi in my opinon would have begged usa for a way out and a ceasefire and isrel would have lost. the same goes for herzzog gabbay and livni. lapid would have gone along with the concensus as he did with the idf and the poor gaza war strategy.

the only leaders who would have hung in and fought more would be bennett and maybe feiglin as they did in the gaza war, bennett from inside and feiglin from outside. why? They can take casualites, threats from usa, throw them off and keep going. bibi on the other hand says ssh sh , we have to do as washington says, i have no choice. this is the talk of a man who suffers a failure of nerve. and the others are the same.for a leader to so shamellessly lie down in the face of usa pressure is a coward and is no golda. likud has to replace bibi asap as he is a drag on the israeii military.

thank god that golda was leader at the time.
