religion is a business. employs many, sells much. good for the soul and economy. better than other business that are less ethical. just don't take religion too seriously. it takes the enjoyment of life out of living.
4. To most, Yom Kippur is non-religious and we eat cake.

As they say in America "follow the money" stupid. A lot of money is made by selling cakes to the millions who eat during all the holidays.
5. Whole Foods Chala Apple Cake

is excellent. I bought and it was better that buying at some of Kosher bakeries.
Whole Foods took the time to bake the This reminds of days when I was child the number of gentile bakeries who had respected their Jewish customer.

The Chala apple cake was only $5.00. One of the best cakes I ever bought for breaking the fast of Yom Kippur. In Canada I have yet to see a gentile bakery who even acknowledges a Jewish occassion. Those days no longer exist/ Canada no longer acknowledges Jewish Holy Days. Canada only promotes Islam/Hindu. Thank you Whole Food. for showing respect for a Jewish holy day.
6. Fish head is a symbolic food on Rosh ha Shanah
Mike ,   Staten Island NY   (10.08.17)
A fish head is specifically associated with Rosh ha Shanah (because Rosh ha Shana literally means "head of the year" and we eat a severed fish head and say "may we be like the HEAD and not the TAIL"). Apparently the cake-makers (bakers) confused Rosh ha Shanah with Yom Kippur here.
