One of the main reasons for Palestinian and Israeli inertia is that essentially

It takes TWO to tango not THREE

Until now you have the PA and Israelis interacting to the consternation of Hamas and Hamas and Israelis interacting to the consternation of the PA

And as sure as eggs...there can be NO progress toward resolution UNLESS and UNTIL all Palestinians are rowing in one boat and in the same direction
and negotiating together with one voice

And the first thing the PA MUST do in Gaza is manage Gaza finances better, stop the huge diversions of aid from tunnel building, blood money payments, missile production, overt fraud and theft and the financing of militias towards rebuilding and infrastructure, education trade and jobs which could serve to transform Gaza almost overnight

As the saying goes..when it comes to Palestinian statehood and a resolution to the conflict Gaza is a key part of the solution and not the problem

2. Typical wishy washy Yemini (at times Smolani)

3. and they go on squaring the circle and babble on about
Delphi   (10.13.17)
"positives" in connection to Arab/Muslim/Jihad- maneuvering in order to finally achieve their declared goal:
wiping Israel off the face of the Middle East.
How superior and intelligent one has to be to internalize this?!
What do I care how many Muslims get slaughtered by their own on the way?
They will not (unfortunately) kill off EVERYBODY from this "religion of peace" :-((
4. thank you
Ed ,   USA   (10.13.17)
Thank you for a good analysis and suggested course of action. Sadly, I don't believe logical and effective decisions can be made by this coalition govt, but will continue to hope for a miracle.
5. Israel needs to learn from Churchill & claim our land
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.13.17)
Israel needs to learn from Churchill. Churchill didn't play "smart" games with the Nazis to cultivate public opinion. Churchill took an uncompromising stand against them and rallied England and the world to defeat them. That is why Churchill will be widely revered forever.

Yemini wants Israel to keep placing our neck in the "Palestinian" guillotine hoping the world will see us as good guys. Pathetic! Israel needs to reject the evil hoax of "Palestine" and claim Judea and Samaria and all the rest of our land.

Israel has hundreds of millions of sincere friends, around the world, who will rally to our side if we denounce the malicious fiction of "Palestine". But they can't help us till we help ourselves.

For example, the U.S. Congress was fully prepared to reject the monstrous "Road Map to Peace", requiring massive and lunatic Israeli concessions. But Ariel Sharon insanely undercut Congress by accepting the abomination. Israel continues to shoot herself in the foot this way.
6. Hamas will never de-militarize, never.
David ,   Hartford USA   (10.13.17)
They indoctrinate 5 to 15 year old kids at summer camp to hate Israel, to learn how to shoot M-16s! They parade in their new donor-paid-for uniforms like goose-stepping Nazi morons. They've already told Abbas they will not give up their guns, so becoming de-militarized is simply not a possibility.

Giving up hundreds of thousands of automatic weapons? Tens of thousands of missiles, rockets, and mortars? Abbas doesn't have the power to accomplish that, only the people of Gaza do, and they're too frightened of Hamas to do anything about it.

But isn't it interesting to see, first hand, that Hamas would rather keep Gaza in ruins than to let a true peace take hold and allow Gaza to flourish? That's the true face of Hamas, and pretty much Abbas as well. When peace breaks out, the corrupt leadership of Hamas and the PA will lose their access to hundreds of millions of donor dollars and tax receipts. Does anyone really believe Hamas or the PA has the best interests of their people in mind?
7. What's good about the deal.......
tiki ,   belgium   (10.13.17)
Moderate President Abu Terror Abbas from Palestine One will be responsible for every rocket, terror attack & war crime coming out of Palestine Two.
8. Really!
PaulD ,   pinchasdavid@gmail.c   (10.13.17)
Is it possible today, millions of dead later, thousands of attacks later, that Muslims can be trusted, and you are still willing to sacrifice more deaths. Are you serious?
9. ben dror is a gullible idiot

10. ben dror is pathetic
ed   (10.13.17)
this man is naive in the extreme, fails to undertand middle eastern realities, and kisses rear ends l ike beilin.

tough diplomatic agreeements are one thing, appeasement because of quartet are another. international agreements did 6 million jews no good at all in the past. ben dror is antoher shtetl appeaser- a weak jew and there are still too many of them in israel.
11. Peace negotiations will be easier with united PA leadership.
Michael ,   California, USA   (10.13.17)
And there is absolutely no doubt that Israel and Palestinians will make peace in the future. The majority of Israelis support giving up land for peace, many surveys have shown.
12. # 11 Aint happening
BBB   (10.14.17)
They aren't making more land.
13. Abbas & Hamas
Tova ,   Canada   (10.16.17)
This deal is to squeeze Israel. You will shortly see these 2 groups joining into a pact to war with Israel. This is not about peace. Its about war. The meaning of the word Hamas in arabic means to cause chaos, destruction. And let's not forget the PLO/Hamas mandate is the destruction of Israel. Gaza will become a military zone and the west bank will become home base to house the jihadits.

War is coming to Israel - and the Israeli people know it. As they say in Israel. They cannot afford to loose.
14. Judea/Samaria belong to Israel by every right
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.16.17)
When Israel claims Judea and Samaria, Israel is claiming lands which belong to Israel by every legal, moral and historic right. "Palestine" never existed and has no more legal, moral or historic basis than Oz, Neverland and Narnia.
