This is really an uplifting piece carrying hope for the future. From my personal contacts, anecdotal though the evidence may be, I can only reinforce these observations. In my view, there is no contradiction between possession of a Palestinian cultural identity and possession of an Israeli national identity (as with the Druze). Of course, there are mischief-makers on all sides who exploit grievances and tensions to deny the idea of complex identities, which most people have in one way or another. Diaspora Jews have experienced this throughout their history. If you do not have to be Israeli to be Jewish then neither do you necessarily need to demand national self-determination to be Palestinian. I await responses from the gainsayers of diverse persuasions!

Welcome back to your home.
