1. Yes, but...
Tony ,   Jeffreys Bay   (10.29.17)
There are often ties in 'negotiation' when what is low value to one side is hi value to the other therefor minimizing the cost to one while satisfying the other.
Now that usually works.... except.

When conflict is based on ideology and religion. Where death is a value rather than a cost..... there is NO OTHER WAY!
2. so Israel to give up nuks and have a Pale state, so new gen
jos rechtman ,   la   (10.29.17)
can have new problems. Perfect! old problems not good enough for them.
3. The policy of non interference in neighbors affairs is good.
Steve Benassi ,   Minneapolis USA   (10.29.17)
Staying out of regional disputes, conflicts and hostilities that don't concern Israel has worked out very well for the Jewish state.
4. your sad half-truth... your PM is not "missing" opportunitie
epo   (10.29.17)
.. he deliberately destroys them, before they could arise - because he is afraid of them. he cant handle them.

see the jordan-incident with the hero-hug.
that was just deliberately destroying all options to have a dialog.

see that gaza has now arms like never before - just when the reconciliation -
and with this a dialog - is unavoidable. do you think thats chance?

your PM is incapable, a coward not up to the task. without his dominant wife he is an anxious idiot with social issues.

if his wife gets locked up and they have one phone call a week you will see him crumble.
5. Claiming deep understanding of the world around us, this
Delphi   (10.29.17)
author (as always) arrives at nonsensical conclusions.
"Soft power" against....Luftwaffe??!!
6. Israel was excluded because
Avi L.   (10.29.17)
Israel was excluded because Iran wouldn't have entered any negotiation with the "lesser devil", not for lack of "soft power", but because Iran is run by a fanatical islamist fascist regime who wants to destroy Israel.
7. change the electoral system get a PM problem solved!
(10.29.17)
because. word. the problem is that we have a Prime Minister who is past his retirement date and all he's concerned with is keeping hold of his chair!
8. I both agree and disagree with Alex Fishman's analysis
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv   (10.29.17)
Israel absolutely needs to use military force in response to military force.

That's how battles and wars are won. Tens of thousands of years of human conflict on every continent shows us that military force does work in either defeating or destroying your enemy.

WW1, WW2, the Israeli victory in all Arab-Israeli wars, the American victory in the American war of independence against the United Kingdom, the Vietnamese victory against France and USA etc etc are all proof of that. Military force is absolutely needed. So, I clearly disagree with Mr Fishman that "Israel is banging its head against a brick wall"

On the other hand I do In fact agree with Mr Fishman that other methods need to be employed as well such as diplomacy, boycotts, information wars, mass media campaigns, ideological attacks on the enemy's predominant ideology or religious persuasion, IT/software wars etc. All of this is indeed needed but cannot replace brute military force. They are needed to complement military force.

I also agree that Israel lacks a long term strategy and that Israel's leaders fail to see beyond the tip of their nose. I absolutely agree with that. 100% correct.

It's not enough to draw red lines and bombard enemy positions here and there but to permanently root out the enemy and the source of the enemy's hosility and the source of the enemy's military, financial or industrial power.
9. More tanks, more fighter jets, more balls and more thought
