1. Nothing new in this land's history, which of course does not
(11.16.17)
shield these fine, upstanding individuals from these accusations (if proven true)
The good old days of 'shhhh"/ Labor-corruption on massive scale are long gone, but people have not adjusted to the new realities of the 21st Century.
They will and corruption isn't going anywhere. Just like war: it's a part of our DNA.
2. One of the sane opinions by Yemini and uncharacteristic Ynet
Steve Benassi ,   Minneapolis USA   (11.16.17)
3. settle down no one is calling Netanyahu a traitor!
Veritas Invicta ,   Israel   (11.16.17)
Even though he did walk in front of a coffin with Rabin's name on it and
Even though he stood on "that" balcony all those years ago!

However, we will call him a kleptocrat.
However, we will call him "Daddy King Fish of our nation" who solicits and receives gifts.
and finally we will point out even though former Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lopolianski gave to Yad Sarah all the money he was given ... still in court he was found guilty of taking bribes! What do you suppose will should happen to a politician who asks his friends to give him gifts?

4. Sorry? Again?
Avi L.   (11.16.17)
"his associates making a profit? Let them make a profit. " Sorry? Again?

Did the PM had enough neurons to understand that this "profit" ranging in the tens of millions was coming from public funds, public money, citizens money?
In this case he clearly understood that it was some kind of fraud, embezzlement or similar and this represent some level of complicity or conspiring, at least he failed to notify his suspicions to whoever he had to.
And it's a crime.

In the case the PM didn't have enough working neurons to understand that a criminal venture was developing under his nose, under his watch, then he doesn't sound able to lead a country, even less Israel in the present state of danger.

Here the subject is not someone making a profit maybe from some overheard semiconfidencial informations, here the subject is unelected and non appointed private persons determining strategic weapon acquisition instead of the State, for their own personal profit, independently of and not caring what the real defense needs of the State. Causing a potential strategic damage.

It is taking the State in their own hands, it is a coup.

Silence is complicity to the coup, ignorance is incapacity to performs the duties of a PM.

It's not some acquaintance making a profit.
5. Didn't sell?
Avi L.   (11.16.17)
Bibi didn't sell Israel's security?

At least he let "close friends" sell it.

At least knowing ("and he likely did") but not denouncing nor stopping he forsake the people mandate to the top position in the executive power, and let "close friends" run the State for their own interest. Against the people mandate, the people and the country security.

He let (alleged) criminals take over the State and decide what is and will be or not Israel's defence in order to fill their own pockets.

Are those "close friends" entitle to decide whether submarines or missiles interceptors or any other system is the proper one, and is the State to be given in the hands of the most liquid and unscrupulous supplier, the one who pays the richest bribes?

Bibi didn't sell Israel's security?
Innocent until proven guilty.
6. Bibi knew and did nothing ...
Avi L.   (11.16.17)
"did know... and he likely did" he hid a crime to justice, he became an accomplice to crime.

He let a (alleged) gang of (alleged) criminals take over the State of Israel money, citizen's money.

Bibi also let take in their own (allegedly) corrupted hands the security of all the citizens.
7. of course not
C   (11.16.17)
netanyahu believes that israel needs the subs from germany.
it is as simple as that.
8. one thing should be clear
earl   (11.16.17)
though i much prefer bennettt or feiglin to bibi, let us all be clear about one thing-he handles terror better than peres, ehud barak, olmert livni and herzog, and in my judgement better than gabbay would.

he responds to every missile attack and with leiberman to every thing coming from the north. peres was very weak, ehud barak was horrible as pm fighting terror, olmert was a basket case along with dleusional livni who to this day praises her UN resolution on arms smuggling by hezbollah.

having said this, bibi gives too many speeches and is too cautious to really undertake a crushing operation against nasrollah. he had all he could handle in gaza where the public was saying finish the damn job already.

investigations are being carried out left right and centre so we should wait for whatever results.

again, i would like to see bennett or feiglin or even saar or barkat take over. but i certainly would not vote for gabbay herzog and lapid. we have seen them before in peres and olmert liivni and herzog and i am not interested in such weak leadership that would sacrifice vital territory in return for nothing.
9. Accusaations galore, corroboration nil
Shalom ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.16.17)
"Netanyahu is up to his neck in a swamp of corruption." Wrong. He is up to his neck in a swarm of accusations, but so far the police investigators have obviously not found enough evidence for a charge of corruption. Otherwise, they would not be calling him back again and again, desperately trying to find something to pin on him. This is what is infuriating more and more observers: a prime minister who is doing many good things for the country while beset with the pettiest of ridiculous accusations. He needed to be bribed with cigars in order to advance the Indian businessman's project? How can he be prosecuted in Israel for putting in a word with Kerry when it is only an American official not an Israeli one, who can be prosecuted for giving out an American visa illegally - and only in an American court?
10. the important thing in this case
zionist forever   (11.16.17)
The most important thing is not who does what or were they on the take or not, the only thing that really matters is the navy gets those subs.

A submarine has a service life of around 30 years and it takes many many years to build and deliver a fleet of submarines and by the time these new subs arrived the Dolphin 1 would be up for retirement which is why the navy wanted them and national security should take priority over politics and criminal investigations.
So carry on the investigations but first make sure that contract is signed so the subs the navy will not be the victim of a criminal investigation.
11. Earl: PM Netanyahu released a higher number of terrorists
Ganesh ,   Israel   (11.16.17)
than any other prime minister in the history of Israel!

During his first term PM Netanyahu released Sheikh Ahmad Yassin the head of HAMAS from prison. After his release Yassin carried out the worst wave of terrorism against the people of Israel that has ever been known.

PM Netanyahu knows nothing about security except his own security! We, the people of Israel are his faithful servants and cannon fodder. We are here to ensure that he remains PM forever!

and while we are at it. PM Netanyahu knows nothing about fidelity or loyalty...just ask his two ex-wives and his current wife about that! Surely they will let you know that he is faithful and loyal only to himself. After all let's not forget that PM Netanyahu admitted to having had an affair with a married woman while he himself was married. That is adultery, that is lack of fidelity, that is lack of loyalty. If he has no problem cheating on his wives why would he have any problem screwing over our entire nation!
