1. Yeah, they've "prepared" us for jolly-good times after
Delphi   (11.20.17)
importing terrorist Arafat& his thugs into Ramallah, after signing Oslo-treaty (or should we say "trairtor'ity"?) and many other wonderful inventions, that only stupid politicians can think of!
Oh, does anyone remember our bosom-pals in Turkey?!
2. Israel can only rely on itself. The Saudi want us becaue
jos rechtman ,   la   (11.20.17)
of our strength and determination not because we are Euro/Left appeasers. Iran will try everything it can to break up this alliance. If the pressure gets to great, the Saudi's will throw us under the bus. The Pales (for now) will have to wait. Maybe a year maybe 2,000 years.,
3. Won't work
Avi L,   (11.20.17)
Won't work because the Saudis have been brainwashing the last generations in school and the rest of the population with every means available that the Jews are the worst of humanity.

The Saudis have financed every terrorist and antisemite on earth, with Qatar.

Bling bling MBS has upset or worse nearly everybody excepted some young who want reforms.

Telling openly he made friend with al Yahoud (betraying da falastine bla bla bla) will give more reason and will play into the other saudi clans, the religious institution, shias hands, Qatar ...

MBS is like the falangists, all bling bling and "go fight instead of us"
4. MBS desperate move
Avi L.   (11.20.17)
The axis of evil has won, Iran controls or has influence from Afghanistan to Beyrout.

The mullah and their ss of the RG will be able to move by land more and more missiles, maybe not airplane more useful in Gulf,

It was enough for Bagdad to move onto Mosul and the Kurds had to leave. Thank you Donald, the "special friend".

Facing the failure of the Gulf arabs to stop the iranians, MBS is betting The House of Saud on nothing.

Donald won't do anything displeasing Putin.

Let's hope that Bibi won't fall for MBS the way he fell for Donald's empty words.

Let's hope Bibi won't bet Israel for the chance of emerging as the vanquisher of hezballah.

Now everything is in Putin's hands.

"Special friends"
5. Fine. Then what? Not clear how this changes much on ground
Rafi ,   US   (11.20.17)
Years ago this might have been a "big deal"... But - today?

a) Israeli and Saudi publics live on two different planets...

b) While formal relations are better than none, materially Israel and Saudia haven't really had much to do with each other over the past 70 yrs anyway... This is not 'Israel & Lebanon', or 'Israel & Jordan' where the contact - good & bad - is constant & "intimate".

Meanwhile... tomorrow the same old issues will still exist for Israel: Palestinians, Hezbollah, and Iran...
