All elections will do is serve to heighten division even further
What we need to aim for is a broad based government of national unity to try to bring about cohesion and unity of purpose between Palestinians in Gaza and Palestinians in West Bank and Palestinians in the diaspora
We also need to see negotiations with Egypt/Israel/Palestinians and Jordan to end the state of war once and for all between Gaza and Israel and Egypt and facilitate better connectivity between Gaza and the West Bank and create conditions in Gaza to attract inward Palestinian investment
Gaza as part of a sovereign Palestine has huge potential...coastal tourism, fishing, agriculture, manufacturing..not to mention offshore oil and gas and there are hundreds if not thousands of extremely wealthy families who want to be a part of Palestinian rejuvenation in Gaza
In addition, Egypt/Palestinians/Jordan have got to finally do justice to Gaza as such an important place of Islamic pilgrimage criminally neglected over decades
A place where the prophet drew so much of his inspiration to create Islam. And Palestinians should be the caretakers of that awe inspring legacy spreading the story to the Islamic world. Instead Gaza children seem to know more about Hamas tunnels than their precious heritage and history
We need to put it right

2. If the hot air emanating out of these so called
"palestinian" leaders could be harnessed and turned into energy, there would never be shortages of electricity in gaza gain.

3. Good move: the main issue that should be on their agenda is,
what size suitcases should they choose, when leaving Judea& Samaria and other areas of Israel they occupy presently. The rest of their problems will solve themselves in a jiffy!

This unification business is a sleight-of-hand by Hamas to bring about a general election which they hope to win and control all of Palestine. Without a disarmament of Hamas there should never be a general election ...... and there will never be a peace with Israel. The people of Gaza will continue to suffer and Hamas will blame Fatah, weakening their election position. Hamas has a plan ....... Gazans are pawns ....... Fatah are suckers. Are you?
