The fact that an Israeli Major General (res) request that the "Israeli response to the Trump initiative should be a demand for an international recognition of Israel’s sovereignty in the Golan Heights", is simply said a disaster, an affront to history. The Golan Heights never were part of Syrian territory! Even a-none Jewish, none-Israeli, but a pure American report prepared for the "U.S. Center for Security Policy" proves it. Some excerpts of said report: "The Golan Heights were illegally given away to the French Mandate of Syria-Lebanon on March 1923. This territorial transfer was made surreptitiously in a capricious and arbitrary fashion by the British whose sole interest was to secure Mosul's oil fields to Iraq... A Mandate is a Trust, according to ART. 80 of the UN Charter. Israel's decision to impose its laws on the Golan Heights on December 14, 1981, had eventually RIGHTED the WRONG that was committed by the British in March 1923... The Golan Heights as they are known TODAY were never part of Syrian Real Estate, but part of the Palestine Mandate". May one suggest that what is written in this report is unknown to an Israeli Major General? Or rather must remain classified as is the League of Nations' Mandate that gave the Jewish people an Independent state, but was rejected by the Left majority of the Zionist movement?

Better talk to Mickey Mouse than relying on Donald or his puppeteer Vladimir.

Should would could must, right, in Slumberland

More probable that there will be some UN resolution for the return of the Golan to Assad, with evil axis support (USSR, China, Turkey, Iran and self-righteous antisemites) most probably Donald's US abstention and eurabians between support and absentees.

So much for dictating conditions, "demanding recognition" and other inanities and nonsenses.

Losers aren't choosers, winners do choose.

BTW, forget any plan to flatten Lebanon when Iran axis will fire missiles, Putin won't let it happen.
3. Root cause is Israel's failure to act like the winner
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.27.17)
Throughout human history, it has always been known that winners, especially in defensive wars, keep the lands they won. Leave it to us Jews to beg our defeated foes to sign a peace treaty with us! The root cause of virtually all Israel's problems with Syria, "Palestinians" and everyone else in the Middle East, is our failure to act like the winner. If we would simply treat our vanquished foes as normal nations do, most of our problems would vanish.

Can you imagine Putin defeating an enemy and than begging it to sign a peace treaty? The very idea is laughable. It should be just as laughable for Israel. The problem isn't Trump, or anyone else. We can't expect anyone to respect us until we show a lot more self respect.

FO ,   Belgium   (11.27.17)
UNGA Resolution 181 was just a proposal, as General Assembly Resolutions are never binding. 181, even being just a proposal, was an illegal vote, because the borders of a Jewish independent state had already been defined earlier by the League of Nations with an unanimous vote by all its 51 members. That vote became International Law, can't be rescinded and was reaffirmed by Article 80 of the UN Charter. It gave the Jewish people a state in formation on the territory between the sea and the Jordan River, INCLUDING the Golan Heights, that never were part of Syrian real estate.
7. Shows how short sighted the peace camp are
zionist forever   (11.27.17)
Even the former generals on the left adopted the attitude that in an era of missiles we do not need strategic high ground, Olmert was willing to give-up the Golan for an end to hostilities not fully peace which would involve the opening of embassies.
Assad has proven that sometimes land is more important than peace and we need formal American recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan because the left have very short memories and as soon as Assad is replaced the left will be saying land for peace lets give up the Golan as a goodwill gesture show Israel wants peace with its neighbours

Also a commitment by the US never to ask us to give up the Golan because saying we recognise Israeli sovereignty is one thing but as soon as Syria reaches out for peace then the US will say deal time again so any recognition of sovereignty must includee a commitment not to push Israel to do a deal on the Golan and we need legislation in Israel the Golan is not for sale now or ever
8. Israel should never ask for any permission from foreigners

initiatives", as so many before (and after) him.
Obviously the "Peace-Process" is a gift that keeps on giving with no end in sight.
It will die the very same day the Islamic onslaught on civilized world is brought to a screeching halt.
In the meantime, be thankful for the brilliant stewardship of Mr. Netanyahu, that has weathered Obama and so much more. That's regardless of how many bottles of pink Champagne Sara has empties& fat cigars Bibi have chewed on....

Steve Benassi ,   Minneapolis USA   (11.28.17)
For talks it is Israel's turn to demand concessions.

Sucking Arabia must be asked to publicly accept this in exchange of intel sharing against Iran by Israel.
