Whatever the rights and wrongs, there are other more important considerations - that of repairing and building relationships with Palestinians and the Arab world

For which Israel must also take the initiative

Indeed this story could yet have a positive outcome

With Israel moving to 'shelve' the idea in response to Palestinian and Arab sensitivities in good faith, then Israel can expect in return from Palestinians and the Arab world.. better and more open formal relations and an end to Palestinian bad mouthing, denigrating and deprecating of Israel at every turn

This could be formalised in an agreement between the parties involved and what could have been detrimental and harmful to relations and indeed the peace process could turn out to have advanced it another step further
