it is not easy to be israel to be surrounded by self hating warring enemies who savage each other while being enemy.

israel is doing pretty good nonetheless. the electorate especially the young tend to be too idealistic. the facts are whether right left, the arabs save a few here and there want jews out of their land as they see it. being freedom loving and sympathizers will not help you long term. they have more regard oddly enough for strong israeli nationalists than the grovelling rear enders with concessions like herzog livni and lapid.

the main point is you have to be on guard, ready to take up arms before you march into the streets protesting this or that. otherwise you end up dead.
