The Palestinians are trying to create an hysteria so as to rally Arabs and other Muslims to fight Israel. As well, they want to rally the West to sanction and boycott Israel. They want to punish the fearful US diplomats by snubbing them.
The Palestinians are just playing everyone for a bunch of fools. They are a bunch of nobodies using the fear of Muslim terrorism to get everyone to toe the Palestinian line.

The only real obstacle to peace has always been Israel's failure to treat "Palestinians" as the defeated foes they are. History proves real enduring peace is based on resounding military victories. Permanent peace, throughout Europe and Asia, following the WW II Allies' great victory is a classic example.
Following Israel's defeat of the terrorist P.L.O., and its exile, Israel was on the brink of real permanent peace. The lunatic Labor Party destroyed peace by reversing Israel's great victory over "Palestinians", rescuing the P.L.O. and offering it much of Israel during the Oslo Disaster.
The path to real permanent peace is clear. Israel needs to tear up Oslo and deal with "Palestinians" as the defeated mortal foes they are.
