Rubashkin was put in jail for faking documents to the bank to get a loan. He then paid back the loan and the bank did not loose any money from that.
When the state prosecuted him they colluded against him with the judge and decided his outcome before seeing the evidence.
In the end he got 27 years for faking a document to the bank despite repaying the line of credit loan related to the game documents in full.
He never laundered money and ynet could be sued for slander for false reporting

2. Laundering and hiring illegal workers
27 years is too much. He didnt kill anyone nor scammed people. He faked a document, he hired illegals and thats it. Trump made a perfect decision to commute the sentance not because he is a religous guy or that nonsense, just because 27 years is too harsh. 3 maybe appropiate.
