Much better than having the cook pee in your coffee at breakfast and then you drinking it unawares. for all we know we Israelis are getting preferential treatment....it's quite possible that they do much worse things to Americans, Brits, Brazilians, Chileans and Argentines, not to mention Colombians and Mexicans who stop for the night without warning them...after all Uruguayan hosteliers are notoriously xenophobic, so all vacationers should steer clear of that particular establishment unless they need to use the loo.
oh, and one question ...does the ban include Israeli Moslems, Israeli Christians or are we just talking about Israeli Jews here.

As an Israeli who was born and raised in Uruguay ,a country with a strong tradition of liberalism and hospitality I am appalled ,hurt and angry.

Unfortunately, many hotels and hostels - worldwide - are not too enthusiastic about Israelis. They behave like Barbarians, leave a mess, are noisy and dirty, tend to take 'souvenirs.' It's a lot easier to invent a political excuse than say it bluntly how uncivilized Israelis are.

Some Arab owners did not want to host me. They don't want to help a Jew to settle.
Some Jewish "hosts" also discriminate you against your age (that generous man that offers a hostel for free in JLM)

Being in the business and seeing and hearing of their loud, obnoxious, arrogant and thieving behavior I have banned Israelis from my small hotel. I know them by listening for the the accent, or how loud they speak or seeing how trashy they look. It's easy to say I have no vacancies. Too many other polite nationalities to book Israelis.
