It seems to me the boast of destroying the tunnel is an exaggeration. They only put a plug in it near Rafah. The tunnel remains intact beneath the Kerem Shalom Crossing, the oil pipeline at the border, and it's entire length within Egypt. It is wishful thinking to assume it cannot be repaired. Also, if Israeli jets bombed the tunnel inside Gaza, how did they get photographs of the tunnel before it was "destroyed"? What could the "40 representatives of the international community" have been shown at their gathering at the Kerem Shalom Crossing ............. a bomb crater over a half mile away? This seems like a load of propaganda crap.
2. yesh atid brings on security professional

lapid thinks by bringing on a security person, he will increase his chances. the problem for lapid is himself. this is olmert number 2. he just discovered that abbas is not a partner. his naivete is breathtaking. his knowledge of security is close to zero as he proved in the Gaza war where his advice was worthless backing yaalon and gantz and opposing bennett, the only one who shapira commended. bibi, gantz, yaalon were all criticized for a lackluster slow campaign.

bibi we know is not a military planner, that is not who he is, he doesn't really understand the battlefield. gantz was passive and reluctant. and yaalon was more concerned with turf wars than anything else. he spent his time attacking bennett for going into the field to find out what was going on.

lapid and gabbay talk about separation from Palestinians. how do you do that with his proposal. Arabs see any withdrawal as weakness and are energized. why would anyone shrink borders. moreover, Palestinians economy cannot support them so Israel would have to give out work permits. so lapid's separation is not doable. relying on Saudi Arabia to safeguard is a bloody joke as that kingdom can fall easily.

there is another separation that is plausible over time. that is emigration of Arabs to Jordan or elsewhere. Jordanian citizenship, and the growth of a merchant class that replaces the Tunis crowd should be considered.. 24 hour satellite communication to arabs in Judea and Samara on its true history should be broadcast as they have never been given tthe real facts. they are the colonizers, not the Jews who were indigenous.

go watch the charlie rose interview of lapid to see what he is all about. Jews have made mistakes before. don't make another more serious one. do not vote for lapid or his party.
