Does the world need another beggar state? You would think that after being given autonomy by Israel that they would be able to be "somewhat" self sufficient. Yet the only ones that became so are the leaders. An example was Arafat. What was his estate worth?. That's where world aid has gone into. to fill their pockets.

The only form of assistance Israel should ever give "Palestinians" is help to leave our land forever. Why should hard working American, or any other taxpayers, be forced to support endless "Palestinian" mooching?

It's true that US aid is not a "bargaining chip", however it is not a "right" either. It can be freely given or taken away.

Focus in the positive ........ US aid to the UNRWA is $60 mil .......... use it well and be thankful.

why do they need the money? what if the US offered to donate the food, medicines and educational materials to the value of the promised amount? Ah but where is the profit in that for UNWRA and the palestinian leaders

Why not shift the $65 mil withheld into the budget to upgrade the US Consulate building in Jerusalem to be used as the new Embassy?

UNRWA definiation of a palestinian refugee: PERSONS WHOSE NORMAL PLACE OF RESIDENCE WAS PALESTINE BETWEEN THE PERIOD 1 JUNE 1946 - 15 MAY 1948, AND WHO LOST BOTH HOMES AND LIVELIHOOD AS A RESULT OF THE 1948 CONFLICT

UNRWA themselves define the refugees as people who were living in Palestiine between 1946-1948 not after but all the Pals are given special status by UNRWA and the main reason is so this cash cow continues to have a reason to continue to exist and the Pals want it to remain because they give them everything they want and are a political ally.
What needs to be done if we are looking for solutions is for UNRWA to be dissolved and the Pals made the responsibility of the UN Commissioner for Human Rights the way all other refugees and displaced persons are, there is no justifiable reason for an organisation with a budget of $1.2 billion to exist because the UNCHR can do the job which also means less money wasted.
