1. Binoculars and no weapons? Scouting or lookouts for others?
David ,   Hartford USA   (01.28.18)
If no weapons were found on the infiltrators, what were they going to attack with? Harsh words?

These guys were scouts, looking for weaknesses in the village's security system. Redouble your efforts, IDF. Next time they won't make the same mistake.
2. David, The point is, the IDF caught them.

3. Execution Allowed When Dressed in Other Side's Uniform
A Simple Jew ,   Beer Sheva   (03.22.18)
Throughout history, wearing an army's uniform by an enemy to attack the army was "perfidy", entitling an army to execute an enemy disguised in that army's uniform.
4. Accusation of "perfidy": not so simple
Iron Duke   (07.14.18)
There is a flaw in your argument. In the days when different armies wore uniforms that were recognizably different, it was easy to prove perfidy or "false flag" motives. But today, every army in the world wears some sort of khaki or camouflage, and many armies authorize personnel to mix service issue items with civilian gear when budgets or convenience dictate this. So unless a person is not only wearing not just similar uniform to the other side, but is also sporting the specific insignia of the other side, or unless they express claims to be from the other side in an attempt to fool sentries or bystanders, then the perfidy argument is essentially impossible to prove. Keep in mind that international law only requires armed belligerents to wear *insignia* recognizable at a distance, and to carry their arms openly. This is because international law recognizes that not every army has the resources to issue standard uniforms, so it is sufficient to use badges or armbands or headbands over civilian clothing in order to satisfy this part of the requirement. (For example, even Hezbollah and the Palestinian resistance factions have for years now been scrupulously adhering to the requirement that all their soldiers on the battlefield use clearly visible armbands, brassards, badges, and headbands at all times. This is intentional, as these groups are clearly striving for international recognition as belligerents. Even the New York Times reported on the International Red Cross holding seminars in Gaza to educate personnel of the Hamas armed wing on the international laws of war and the treaty obligations of the Hague and Geneva Conventions.) As for carrying arms openly, there is no report in the article that the arrested suspects were armed at all, let alone hiding arms. So ultimately, your allegation that perfidy was committed in this case rests on very shaky grounds.
