1. returing captive israellis
jay   (02.02.18)
returning captive Israelis dead or alive from enemy lands has always been difficult. trades have been lopsided even before the bibi and the shalit deal.olmert did not do much in this regard either.

in the past, Israel has captured Arabs for trades. in come cases, Israel has removed top enemy figures to make the point.

bibi will do none of this.he lacks the ability to take the initiative other than give a speech. if one suggests capturing top Hamas figures for trade, he would not do it, it would never occur to him. if you suggest to block essential good shipment, he wouldn't do it.

so you can see why the goldins are upset with bibi. he is extremity week in the security field . he has a lot of trouble with security. when he says he led men in battle. when can we stop laughing

bibi is not the figure israelis think he is. he is not a well versed miilitary man-the is the opposite.

if Israeli looks in the mirror-they should recognize that nasrollah has been far superior to olmert and livn and now bibi, other than the odd rhetorical excess, he is cool, does not shrink from battle, uses psychology war terror tactics and has stamina. compared to him, herzog livni gabbay and bibi along with olmert are crybabies.

2. hezbollah tactics underrated
geroge   (02.03.18)
Israelis i think, underrate the tactics of Hezbollah. they have adopted the north Vietnamese/ Chinese and soviet methodologies of hidden rockets underground or in homes, combined with soviet antitank weapons covered by brute force massive rocket arrays. they also indoctrinate their troops.

as Vietnam war clearly demonstrated, bombing does not defeat them.

Putin's methods of using sniper commandos on the ground with massive block busting munitions ie flattening city blocks, not one building at a time have had initial success. Israel tends not to use this type of warfare.

Israeli ingenuity is special, though it takes time to develop and practice. Its people have to survive and win, so practice is required. and of course, Israel cannot sit back.

however messy Sharon was, and he was, he showed the way in taking Beirut, though entering a civil war is not wise. but he was able to clean out some terrorist areas.

holding operations of olmert and peretz, bibi and barak, followed by yaalon are not good enough and are just band aids until the next encounter.

so Israel has to develop special methods to deal with Hezbollah which should include a blend of asymmetrics with some Putin- like methods. otherwise we will see Hezbollah war result repeated.

Israel cannot sit back. its leaders since sharon have been totally defensive and only do band-aids.

Bennett, feiglin are different in what they want to do. Lieberman also talks differently but we will see. clearly bibi is risk adverse to any big operation as yvet said, he cannot undertake any major operation as he simply doesn't have it. there is no sense condemning him. just replace him with Bennett.

lapid, gabbay and livni/herzog have no capacity to wage big war against Hezbollah. that is why in part they constantly offer withdrawal concessions.

no one is going to do it for Israel, so don't think trump is some savior. he is not. Israelis have to fight to their survival. do you really want to choose bibi after his performance in Gaza which was abysmal. i think not.Bring on Bennett who will protect Israel.
