IAF is not even 10% of what it was in 1970s. Quality of manpower is not the same as it was 40-50 years ago. Israeli pilots are not anymore superior over any other pilots. IAF will get more blows like that. It's a price for being an American puppet.

lapid would consult with idf and hit drone and then go to the un. he would not in my opinion expand the response.
gabbay would say hit the drone, perhaps the command and control launching site and then offer to sit with assad in peace talks to consider the golan.

rumors of general levin alleged remarks saying bibi instigated northern clash need a response. If it is true that this is what he said, he is totally wrong for several reasons:

first, bibi is not a war monger. he goes out of his way to avoid battle always saying israel will sue for peace. Right to defense he repeats over and over again, yet he is one of the most reluctant in the use of force. and concessions on the table-he is not that different from herzog and lapid to israel's disadvantage.

general levin who i believe commanded bibi had ample opportunity to assess bibi as commando. so the big question is that since bibi is so reluctant as a fighter, why did you not move him to a desk job? so the problem is y our mismanagement. so you are not credible much in the same way gen barak is not credible anymore.

likud coaltion did better in this inital hit, it did not flinch than lapid herzog and gabbay would have done. and to be frank, it has more to do with lieberman and bennett and not bibi. yet bibi signed off on it so he gets some favourable mention.
