1. Building kindergartens is a peaceful way to protest terror
MadDad ,   Johannesburg   (02.19.18)
Is the author suggesting Jews should take revenge on the Arab population in the same way as they do to Jews? I.e. go out and cut throats, ambush families, and ram pedestrians?
2. Yemini can admit that if he wants to.
Brad   (02.19.18)
However, implementing the one state solution in the face of Muslim terrorism shows that Israel won't be deterred by the rotting corpse of Islam. That means Islam is being defeated, not the Zionist vision. Yemenis mind might be twisted, but the Zionists aren't.
3. "Zionist vision is being defeated by "terror"!? Only someone
(02.19.18)
like Yemini can sputter such nonsense.
True: annexing Judea & Samaria shouldn't have anything to do with "terror" (who the fuck is TERROR?!)
It should be our openly admitted, guilt-free policy!
4. Settlement construction
samuel tayar ,   montreal   (02.19.18)
Calling you a fool should be a compliment. Wait a few (short) years until Judea & Samaria if built up & house 500,000 + Jews. Then maybe you'll understand the strategy. Grow up, grow your balls & learn a little about business & the "art of the deal".
5. Ummm, it is our land
Expert   (02.19.18)
Just because some clowns decided to build a mosque on our temple site in the 700's, doesn't carry any historical or legal weight. Islamists blow up churches, Budhist statues and Hindu temples as well. It is called playing Capture the Flag. just a way to insult people that have been vanquished. But, ahem, the Jews are back in our land, and that is really too bad for all the thieves that want it. They can live peacefully in their 57 Islamic countries and 22 Arab states, comprising an enormous land mass. All we Jews want is to live peacefully in our tiny sliver of land and be left alone to accomplish great things.

Are Jews who claim an undivided Jerusalem for Israel also ruining the Zionist project? Please don't use words backwards from their intended meaning in doublespeak fashion.
6. True, settlement construction isn't the answer...
Sheila Ramon ,   Haifa   (02.19.18)
...settlement construction is the question. "Yes!" is the answer.
7. Derfner`s doppelganger?
L Mayor ,   Penllyn   (02.19.18)
Ben Dror, did you copy your text from scribblings by Gershon Baskin, or, Larry Derfner, as, the insanity of your "reasoning" is remarkably similar to the regular ravings of these 2 deranged defeatists?
8. fools of our generation
baruch ,   gush etzion   (02.19.18)
A response to terror isn't building. We should be building because its our country an our right to build. Our response to world antisemitism is the building of our national homeland an security for our sovereign Jewish state. The only thing we should do as a prompt response to a terror attack G-D Forbid is to eliminate the terrorist an not destroy but reclaim all properties from the family of the terrorist an give it over to the families that were affected by the act of terror. If we do this we will rid are selves of this evil from within us an reclaim all of our G-D given right to all of the land of Israel
9. degenerate
dave ,   tzfat-phila   (02.19.18)
israel faces existential threats from three fronts. isn't Isreal really powerful? Hasn't the IDF won its wars? Why the geopolitical nightmare? Answer: Israelis are pussies. They should have resettled the enemy population 50 years ago and annexed all the land they acquired in defensive wars. All the consessions, all the money, all the pain, and what do you have? a nightmare future. time to not be a pussie and go for it.
10. too late for the two state solution
Khalid Amayreh ,   Jerusalem   (02.19.18)
It is now either one state for all or open-ended conflict. And the Palestinians are here to stay. That is why I would like to thank the Israeli right for decapitating the two state solution which would have been a de facto liquidation of the Palestinian cause. Has the Almighty rescued us from the Oslo disaster?

Now, I can claim all of Israel-Palestine as my country. I have no ill feeling toward anyone. We just want to live as free and equal citizens. That is all.
Occupation and apartheid hurt us so much and also corrode the moral fabric of Judaism. Jews must be smarter than resorting to primitive thinking and ghoulish scenarios! Yes for freedom and equality for all in one unitary state.
11. I strongly disagree
Khalid Amayreh ,   Jerusalem   (02.19.18)
"We can reach an international agreement on an expansion limited to the settlement blocs"

Yes, I strongly disagree. Jews and Arabs should be able to live everywhere in the country. Jews may live in Hebron as they do and Arabs may live in Kiryat Shmona. This is the real solution to "terror" and other problems.
12. The only way to fight terror is to fight with all means
Ilan   (02.19.18)
The Zionist response has always been to move forward, for our own sakes and to make it clear that attempts to destroy us will never succeed. Nothing has changed since the turn of the *last* century. The Arabs are the same Arabs and the sea is the same sea. Either we build (and not just in Yehuda and Samaria) or we die. So not building in Havat Gilad or in Har Bracha will not directly defeat terror, but it is our answer to ourselves to terror. If if it weakens their resolve so much the better.
13. Losing all sense of proportion
Disillusioned   (02.19.18)
On the one hand we decry the unfairness of boycotts and anti-Israel resolutions. But what have we done to promote confidence that the State of Israel is a moral and law-abiding one that doesn't deserve the world's scorn?

Ben-Yemini is right in this respect. We have, since Sharon - failed to understand that property is not important only to us, but to 4 million Arabs living within our own declared borders. And we ride roughshod over them with a most disproportionate sense of what is or isn't just (for us).

We then have the arrogance to say to the world that it is the Arabs who never wanted the peace, that we tried, and it was they who rejected everything.

Well, I was living here when it was possible to go and safely buy pita in Tulkarm, where I had coffee in a Palestinian home in East Jerusalem, when we visited - and were made welcome - in the Al Aqsa mosque, and when we travelled through west bank towns with next to no fear. The PLO, then, was a relatively small group and most of the villagers never bothered.

In fact, many of the Paletinians were doing very well, and whilst resenting the military presence, were secretly thanking Allah for their better financial status under Israeli rather than Jordanian rule.

What changed?
Our policy changed. Re-establishing Ma'aleh Adumim and the those areas we had a stronger claim to was not enough. The rise of religious zealotry began to have a political influence and some decided to simply TAKE what they decided was now theirs and theirs to do what they liked with.

Because land is of primary importance in Islam, that brought the Arab population to their feet. They feared that their own homes were once again (as in 1947) snatched for the Zionist state. We weren't listening. We didn't care. We had by then developed Occupier's Arrogance and we bulldozed ahead with plans to annex - by "stealth" more and more for ourselves.

Ideologically, the Jews can lay claims as much as they like. But morally, we exacerbated an existent problem and moved in. We claim we "buy" the land lawfully, but most of it is really by exploiting the more naive and poorer Arab landowners. We're really good at that.

And when they arose with their intifadas, we turned around and said "you see? They don't want peace, so we'll just go ahead and move in some more. Yet we still stand up and ask the whole world why they can't understand our version.

I am, incidentally, NOT a supporter of the left, just a supporter of simple ethics.
14. Same shmuck
yosef ,   jerusalem   (02.19.18)
Ben-Dror's last name could be "smol" (left) - instead of Yemini (right.)
His consistently, blatantly bleeding-heart, leftist articles have become annoying, increasingly out of step with the Israeli increasing majority !
15. Barghouti has never supported peace
Mordechai   (02.19.18)
The problem with the left is its need to lie. Barghouti has never supported peace and opposed violence. Thats why he is in jail for murder. The lefts failure is that it ignores PLO terrorism and defends the mass murder of Jews
16. ONE-STATE WOULD ELIMINATE VIOLENCE BY ALL SIDES
Khalid Amayreh ,   Jerusalem   (02.19.18)
17. What you say makes sense but it is too late
Khalid Amayreh ,   Jerusalem   (02.19.18)
Now it is either one state for all or perpetual conflict. Needless to say, in a perpetual conflict, Jews would lose at the end. Figure it out for yourself!
18. Too late for the Zionist vision
Khalid Amayreh ,   Jerusalem   (02.19.18)
Arabs are already a majority in the land (8.2 million Arabs vs 7.8 million Jews according to a recent article by Uri Avnery).
It is only a matter of a few decades before the Arabs become a decisive and irreversible majority? What would Kahana's many orphans do in the face of history? Invoke Baba Sally!?
19. He never accepted your twisted concept of peace
Khalid Amayreh ,   Jerusalem   (02.19.18)
He is absolutely correct.Peace from your point of view mean perpetual occupation and eternal apartheid. Forget it!
20. Terror= effect.....Cause=Jewish oppression
Khalid Amayreh ,   Jerusalem   (02.19.18)
I and the public know
what all school children learn
those to whom evil is done
do evil in return!
21. BUILD..THEN BUILD SOME MORE
THEODORE HURTSEL ,   SAFED REALITY   (02.19.18)
22. Mr. Yemini, have you stopped to think?
Expert   (02.19.18)
Suppose there were a 2-state arrangement, and ISIS or Iran asked the Palestinians if they could set up shop and establish bases to destroy Israel? Who would protect us? Are you foolish enough to rely on Arabs to protect us from Arabs?

And suppose the Palestinians were given a demilitarized state, and one year later decided they want to smuggle weapons, or that it was unfair their state was demilitarized. Is Israel going to have to inspect every boat and truck that enters their territory to search for weapons? Welcome to Gaza version 2. We have seen that movie already with the Navi Marmara and the ensuing protests. Do Leftists ever learn anything, or just keep stumbling and bumbling around in
their outdated nonsense.
We will maintain
23. Listen to Ben-Dror Yeminis' advice
ALBERTO EINSTEIN ,   SAFED GENIUS   (02.19.18)
And then do the exact opposite.
24. Denial of Jewish property over imaginary line´s antisemitism
(02.19.18)
25. If opposing Jewish lebensraum is anti-Semitism...
Khalid Amayreh ,   Jerusalem   (02.20.18)
Then antisemitism becomes legitimate and kosher. wrong doesn't become right just because the doer is a Jew!
26. Islamism uses terror as instrument of Jihad
C   (02.20.18)
27. UNLIMITED Judea/Samaria building & "Palestinian" departure
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.20.18)
Israel has the absolute right to build, without limitation, throughout Judea and Samaria and all our other lands. This has nothing to do with "Palestinian" terror. The answer to "Palestinian" terror is simple. Promptly execute every single terrorist within 72 hours of capture. Right after thorough interrogation.

The winning formula for Israel is UNLIMITED Judea and Samaria building combined with ending all our mad support for evil fictional "Palestine" letting it fall and fostering massive "Palestinian" departure from our land.
